Roma midfielder Olivier Dacourt has signed a two-year contract with Serie A rivals Internazionale.
The 32-year-old will move to the Giuseppe Meazza on a free transfer after his four-year stay at Roma came to an end.
A number of clubs had been interested in signing the Frenchman, with
Bolton close to bringing him back to England last summer.
"I have signed with Inter for two seasons with an option for another year," Dacourt told L'Equipe.
"It is a great Italian club that plays regular
Champions League football.
"After four seasons at Roma, I needed a new start.
"Now I have left Roma, I can say I am a little disappointed. We have not qualified for the
Champions League and I have played in, and lost, three Italian Cup finals."
Meanwhile, Dacourt is disappointed to have been left out of Raymond Domenech's World Cup squad.
The former Leeds midfielder has appeared 21 times for his county and believes himself and Roma team-mate Philippe Mexes have been unfairly overlooked by the French coaching staff.
"I am very disappointed not to be in the French squad," he continued.
"Raymond Domenech didn't ever consider coming to see us, me and Philippe Mexes, only his assistant came.
"I was under no illusion, but deep down inside I still had hope.
"What upsets me most is that Philippe has been forgotten, I am hurt for him. I saw him dejected, that moved me.
"Honestly, he has been very good. He is considered to be one of the best defenders in Italy.
"It is just like Johan Micoud and Ludovic Giuly, who is playing at Barcelona and is in the
Champions League final, can you understand?"
