Barcelona's season ended on a low note as they were beaten by Athletic Bilbao on Saturday, but Samuel Eto'o did land the season's Pichichi prize.

Frank Rijkaard's men comfortably landed the Liga title and they proved their class with a stunning win over Arsenal in Wednesday's UEFA Champions League final.

Rijkaard's men could have been forgiven for not being fully focused and the Dutch coach took the decision to rest a number of players.

His team started well and led through Eto'o, but they capitulated after the break and were beaten 3-1.

Eto'o was handed a start as he went in search of the goal which would guarantee him the Pichichi and he duly popped up with his 26th goal of the campaign when ramming home from the edge of the box on 36 minutes.

Athletic took charge of the game after the break and Andoni Iraola levelled the scores with a neat finish on the hour.

Felipe climbed off the bench to fire the home side ahead 10 minutes from time and the comeback was completed shortly afterwards, as Olegeur turned a cross from Joseba Etxeberria into his own net.

The result mattered little for either side, with Barca securing their target from the game which was ensuring Eto'o found his way onto the scoresheet to pip Valencia's David Villa to the Pichichi.

The European champions finished their league campaign on 82 points, 12 clear of second-placed Real Madrid, while Bilbao ended the campaign in 12th.

Congratulations to Eto'o. Hes really improved as a player this season. I didnt rate him much until recently but he is easily one of the best strikers in the world now. He hasnt been the same in front of goal since the ACN but he still managed to win it
