Rae set to be new Dundee boss |
|
Dundee will announce their new manager at a press conference on Wednesday, with veteran Rangers midfielder Alex Rae the leading contender.
Dens Park chief executive Dave MacKinnon described talks with the 36-year-old as "very positive". And MacKinnon added: "If it is Alex then that's great, if not then we still have options." Rae would be a player-manager and is likely to appoint former Hibs player David Farrell as his assistant. The announcement at Dens Park is scheduled for 1400 BST. Former Sunderland and Wolves player Rae has spent the past two seasons at Ibrox. However, Rae's role at the club has been limited and he made just six starts this term. The new man will be replacing Alan Kernaghan, who was sacked by First Division Dundee last month. I feel Rae will do a good job if he is appointed. |
