While the forum was quiet ive been browsing around through boredom and i noticed how many people were online and browsing the forum.

it got me thinking - do any of you wonder how your posts may be scrutinised and read by anybody in the world?

as an example, you could say something entirely in jest and yet somebody, somewhere will read it and it could cause offence or whatever. i tend to forget this is a global site and that my posts will be read by potentially thousands of people... pretty scary thought aint it? absolutely anybody could read it, Ferguson could read Roonanialdo's posts and think "wow what a guy", Van Persie could read rachrvp's posts and think "Sh*t, what a stalking nutcase", Nigeria's El Presidente could read my views on his fantastic nation and think "Wow, he is really in touch with my corrupt activities". the possibilities are endless!!

do any of you regret posting anything on the back of that? for the record i stand by every single post i have ever made on the forum.

Were any of you voyeurs on the site before signing up? did you have any preconceptions about current members from what you read?

I actually found this forum by just being bored one day and typing in football into Google search, I admit before that I didn't actually know what forums were or a anything like that and i certainly didn't set out with any intentions to join one. But I had a little read around after i had clicked on the link and liked what i saw, and was encouraged by the welcomes in the newcomer thread i created and here i am today nearly, two and a half years later.

I do forget the masses of people who may be reading as visitors actually, and they could be anyone but i don't regret posting anything.

Ive went back a few months back and edited all my posts in a very controversial drug thread from a couple of years back, the thing is still referenced by google and im sure an astute employer could find out this is my online nickname and read all my past posts of they so felt like, pretty scary.

Your absolutely right there Steely.......the site gets a fantastic number of hits from search engines and many many people associated with football carry out research and pick up ideas for articles from information and views posted on forums just like this. When you type football into Google Uk it is normally the second site listed in the hits.

As an example......I was searching via Google for images of Rooney and clicked on a link to a pic......amazingly it took me to a pic of Rooney emedded in an article written by someone with an identical name to me......it suddenly dawned on me that I had been directed to one of the home pages of this site and it was indeed an article that I had produced for O Dogg.

I have seen articles written in some of the online national rags and thought on a number of occasions that it was based on information gleaned from posts on this site.......or maybe the idea pinched from original thoughts generated on the football.uk forum.

I am sure that SAF and all the lads in the first team at United read my posts and are cheering me on......someone has gotta sort you lot out

i dont really worry about anything i say. although its a bit rubbish that people browsing may only see select posts and think im racist because of certain comments
