West Brom have completed the £3.25million signing of England international Scott Carson from Liverpool.

As revealed by skysports.com, Carson has signed a four-year deal at The Hawthorns with the club having the option of adding another year to the deal.

Carson has decided to leave Liverpool after dropping further down the pecking order at Anfield following the signing of Brazilian keeper Diego Cavaleri.

Stoke made the first move for the former Leeds man after agreeing a fee with Liverpool, but pulled out of a deal after learning that other clubs had also joined the race for Carson.

Carson is Baggies boss Tony Mowbray's seventh signing of the summer following the arrivals of Roman Bednar, Luke Moore, Do-heon Kim, Graham Dorrans, Gianni Zuiverloon and Marek Cech.

The 22-year-old, who spent last season on loan at Aston Villa, will battle it out with Dean Kiely for the No.1 shirt at West Brom this season.

Personally, i find Carson has always been a touch overrated but he is a solid keeper, undoubtedly. I think this is the best bit of business Mowbray will do this Summer.

Brom have made some good deals so far, with the likes of Moore and Cech, and now Carson. I feel the same as Yobbo, he could have done better than a newly promoted team. But he should be guaranteed regular football from now on.

I honestly thought that a better team would have come in for him considering his price was lowered and the potential he has. I think he would have been better off at a team that was already established in the league like Blackburn or Bolton or West Ham etc..
This could turn out to be a great bit of business and end up as a kick in the teeth to us if he goes on and fulfills his potential

Thinking back to his performance in the Champions League 4 years ago (the year we won it), against Juventus in the first leg of the Quarter's, i don't think he's quite made the progression expected. Although i'll say the England came knocked him back immensely in his development - perhaps something he'll never even recover from. His mistakes shown versus Croatia and consequently for Villa will be the reason that he's moved to West Brom and no-one higher.

Feel we could have got a little more than £3.25m mind.

Maybe you could of got more than 3.5 million, as werent you asking fro liek 10 odd million in the Janurary window when Aston Villa were intrested in making his loan move permanent. I think you maybe could of got 4.5-5 million maximum.
