Quote:
Manchester United defender Patrice Evra and Chelsea groundsman Sam Bethell have been charged with improper conduct following a post-match brawl at Stamford Bridge last season.

Evra briefly traded blows with Bethell following Chelsea's 2-1 win over United on April 26 when members of the London club's groundstaff demanded that several United players, including the French defender, stop their warm-down on the pitch.

The United players refused to leave and an angry row broke out between the stars and Chelsea stewards and groundstaff.

Now Evra will have to answer the FA charge, while Bethell has also been charged with using abusive language aggravated by reference to nationality/race.

United defender Rio Ferdinand has been reminded of his responsibilities to the game following a separate incident, also after the Chelsea match, when he accidently kicked a female steward in frustration while walking down the players' tunnel at Stamford Bridge.

A professional football player kicks a female steward. Another professional football players traded blows with a groundsman. Who do these players think they are.

Do you think these players should get big fines for there actions?
Do you think this is acceptable in football?

Rio Ferdinand kicked a female steward by accident.

Patrice Evra was insulted then punched in the face, and reacted.

Nothing thread. Move along.

Laughing He went to kick a wall and accidentally connected with the woman.

You're laughable in every aspect of everything I've seen of you.

With all due respect, the FA can hardly turn around and say "aaah, but the groundsman deserved it!" and let Evra off. What sort of organisation would that be? He acted, he's punished. I know resorting to race is the tool of the satanic, and should obviously result in instant death, but even you must see past your obvious bias.

The Ferdinand thing is feasible.

I agree. If Evra retaliated he should be punished.

First off the ground staff should have no contact verbally or physical with players of opposing teams. They are in no position to demand anything from professionals and Chelsea as an organization should back that up. If the Ground staff have a problem then they need to go to their superiors to solve the issue for obvious reasons.
If the Chelsa ground staff racially abused Evra ,then every Chelsea player of African decent needs to boycott the team until that person is fired. If he is guilty of racially abusing anyone and still keeps his job ,then i will loose respect for all those Chelsea players if they don't take action.

Laughing I guarantee that if there was no hint of racial abuse in this case you would have condemned those big bad Manchester United players...

because African players are usually Black , which seems to be the case here with Evra.

The fact that you can actually laugh at this situation speaks volumes.

Never been a Man U fan myself ,but loved Chelsea since the early 70's so i don't know what your point is with that statement. I will say that the issue of racial abuse is bigger than the game of football, so i have no loyalty to any team that takes such an issue lightly. I mean black players are good enough for them when they are bagging 30 goals a season ,but not good enough when they are on the opposing team. I think i can say quite confidently ,that if it were Drogba on the field "warming down" they would say what they said to Evra ,but they would most definitely think it! And if you think that's farfetched then you really don't have a grasp on reality.

the 'racial abuse' centered around nationality rather than colour, ie french. similar to cantona perhaps.

i dont think Ashley Cole will really care about that, as an example.

You are correct about Cole ,because he's a t*sser. All he cares about is himself ,fantastic player ,but you can tell he's after that Beckham glamour. He's lost so i don't expect anything interms of action off the pitch from him.
