Gretna grab MacFarlane and McGill |
|
Gretna manager Rowan Alexander has made two new signings with Neil MacFarlane from Aberdeen and Brendan McGill from Carlisle United moving to Raydale Park.
Owner Brooks Mileson said: "I'm delighted with how Rowan is improving the squad, which shows his intent to compete at a higher level next season. "His judgement in new signings has been exemplary and I'm sure that both players will be fantastic for us." MacFarlane has also played for Hearts and McGill had a spell with Sunderland. The transfers see Alexander building on the club's recent success after winning the Second Division title and reaching the final of the Scottish Cup. As a result, Uefa Cup football now beckons next season for the Black and Whites. The signings of 25-year-old right winger McGill and the experienced 28-year-old MacFarlane will strengthen the squad ahead of a First Division campaign. |

Not bad signings. Both seem to have significant experience which will help Gretna in there hope for promotion again.
