Austrian international midfielder Stefan Lexa is expected to sign a deal with relegated Kaiserslautern.
The 30-year-old, whose contract was not renewed by Eintracht Frankfurt, is expected to undergo a full medical at the Fritz-Walter-Stadion before he signs a potential two-year contract.
Lexa is predicted to become a major player in coach Wolfgang Wolf's plans of restoring the club back to top-flight football.
The Austrian has made a total 43 Bundesliga appearances for Frankfurt since 2003 and has also played for Unterhaching and Reutlingen.
