Ronaldo is still undecided what he wants to do, i know this is getting spoken about all over the place so i thought why not start a thread in the place where he could be coming to.

I must admit i get pretty annoyed to see every paper to every sports news channel ronaldo will be brought up and spoken about.

So as a spanish football fan how do you feel about ronaldo coming to play in spain?

I don't believe he is undecided about where to play this season. Once again the press are trying to put words in his mouth e.g. The Sun - 'Ronaldo:I want to play for Real', later today they have changed that headline to say he won't commit to United.

It is all nonsense....sensationalisation designed to sell newspapers. I don't know if you heard Ronaldo's interview G_man but I did. He talked about being motivated playing for United and being motivated to win more trophies with them. He added....as far as the future is concerned.....only God knows the answer to that.

In a nutshell....it isn't Ronaldo's choice to decide where he will play next season. It is up to Manchester United and they have decided he is NOT for sale. Therefore he will NOT be playing in Spain other than for Manchester United in CL away games against Spanish opposition.

Good post. Yeah i have heard his interview now a few times and yes i here he is there to be at united to win trophies and him and his team mates will all be motivated for the new season. But i do feel alot will be going on this season with ronaldo and clubs trying to unsettle him all season, this may cause united and ronaldo to have an even tougher season.

The focus has really been on Ronaldo since the season ended regarding his potential transfer to Real and maybe because he didn't fulfill his dream move, it could possibly have an impact on his form this coming season. But Ronaldo also went on to say that he is used to being wanted by other top clubs and it is a pressure that is continually there in the background....it hasn't just suddenly happened this close season. He says.....it is expected when you are a top player......for other clubs to want you....he believes it is no big deal. He is noted for being mentally strong.......I believeALL this uncertainty will NOT affect his form. All IMHO.

Yup true he said he was use to this being wanted by other clubs. Lets see if he can maintain his form like last season, i dont think he will be as good as last season but still think he will do well.
He is gonna have it tough this season. I just hope he will one day come over to play in spain.
Alot going on with Man United this year. Also a sad loss for Brown. Surprised no1 has made a topic about it. His sister and dad all so close. Very sad.

I agree Raul. It is unsettling for both Real Madrid and Manchester United.

When and where is/was the interview Sticky? As of yet......I don't believe he has actually said that publicly. Was it in Portuguese, English or Spanish?

He doesn't actually say he wants to leave, but it's quite clear he does from this interview:

It's typical Ronaldo. Hinting that something is or was on the cards but in the end it all came to nothing. He STILL has not categorically stated in public that he wants to leave Man United.....or that he wants to play for Real Madrid. It has unsettled both clubs and has probably deflected Real's interest away from other possible signings. The latest rumour is that Kaka is back on the Real agenda. Everyone knows that isn't going to happen either.

Oh god, not Kaka. I don't want that Jesus ring diver anywhere near Real Madrid.

I see you have spoken about your club raul!!

Quote:
Real Madrid captain Raul has spoken out in defence of the club after Sir Alex Ferguson stated that joining the club would be the worst thing that Cristiano Ronaldo could do for his career.

Los Merengues icon Raul was stunned by the Scotsman's outburst and believes that playing for the Spanish giants would be the pinnacle for any player.

The public tussle over Ronaldo continued with Ferguson's words and Raul felt that he could not let the comments pass without responding.

Best thing
"Joining Madrid is the best thing that could happen to anyone," Raul told Marca. "I have been here for 14 years and I would not change anything."

With rumour and counter-rumour a daily occurrence as the media try to be the first to predict whether Ronaldo will stay or leave United, the soundbytes from both camps are increasing.

Ferguson's statement came on the same day that the Premier League giants were given some encouragement by their player that he would stay as he talked about the team improving next term.

Madrid president Ramon Calderon has also continued to keep the saga in the papers with comments, but his optimism has waned of late and the club have now reportedly asked about Kaka

It is a fine statement by Raul and no one would expect him to see it any other way. Real Madrid have been his life. Unfortunately, Raul does not appreciate what it is like playing for a club like Manchester United in comparison to Real. People like Carlos Queiroz, who no longer has any allegiance to either club, knows what it is like and has advised Ronaldo exactly what is in his best interests at THIS stage in his career. Maybe, at some point in the future, it will be in Ronaldo's best interest's to move to Real. Raul does NOT know what is best for Ronaldo.

Michel Salgado is ready to welcome Cristiano Ronaldo to Real Madrid, but has warned his side not to 'lose their heads' over a signing.

Real have been interested in bringing in the Portuguese winger since the end of last season but as yet they have made little headway, with Manchester United refusing to sell.

Salgado accepts that Ronaldo would significantly strengthen Real but feels confident of success whether or not he arrives.

The defender does not believe it would be sensible to place too much emphasis on capturing the 23-year-old.

"It's clear he brings with him the most difficult thing in football, which is the one-against-one, because there are very few people with that quality," said Salgado.

"At the same time I don't think we should lose our heads over a signing. If it goes through we'll welcome him, if not we'll be calm.

"We're going for number 10 (10th European Cup) whether Cristiano comes or not, but he'll surely help us to pick up more (trophies).

"It is known that the club will try any way they can to sign him. If he comes he'll give us a leap in quality and if he doesn't we'll work with what we have to win titles, which is our objective."

Must admit i do agree with salgados full statement

I agree too......particulary with his admission that Real are behind Manchester United in terms of quality players.

That's not an admission of anything.

Any team can improve.

You telling me if you signed Torres to partner Tevez up front, it wouldn't give Man U a leap in quality? Of course not!

Besides, there's no way Salgado would say Man U are better. After Real Madrid record breaking season last term, EVERY SINGLE one of them at the club, will believe fully they are better than any other team in the world.

The current team is so good in every area, and achieved so much in the league last season, entering unprecedented heights, they have every right to believe they are the best.

THE Cristiano Ronaldo transfer saga took another twist today as reports emerged that the winger has signed a ‘secret deal’ with Real Madrid.

Speculation in the Spanish press claimed the Portuguese international has already put pen to paper on an “agreement of intention” with Real club president Ramon Calderon.

According to Marca newspaper, the ongoing bitter transfer wrangle between Manchester United and the Spanish giants has finally come to an end as the agreement cements Ronaldo's transfer to the Bernabeu.

Should the 23-year-old fail to honour the deal and stay at Old Trafford, he will be forced to financially compensate Real.

The news of a 'secret deal' will come as a further blow to Sir Alex Ferguson, who has fought tooth and nail to dispel Calderon’s determination at signing his star winger.

The Reds boss, who is due for a face-to-face blow out with Ronaldo when he returns from holiday on Monday, has long insisted that the winger will remain with the Premiership winners next season despite the Spanish champions tracking him all summer.

This is the biggest load of b*llocks yet on this saga. The Spanish press and Real's political arm Marca must be completely deluded.

How can a player contracted to another club sign such an agreement, AND then, if he fails to fulfill such an illegal obligation, be pursued for legal damages by Real???

It would THEN be obvious to the WHOLE world an illegal approach WAS made by Real Madrid. And the signed agreement NOT worth the paper it was written on.

Ronaldo fiasco
