I think this will be a nice game to watch shortly...

Will be interesting to see who Scolari plays in his first Chelsea team....

Will Crouch and Defoe work well together up front for Portsmouth today?

How do you all see the game going...

Chelsea 2 -1 Portsmouth

They played some great football in the first half especialy Deco....

Chelsea's goal scorers were Joe Cole,Anelka and Lampard with a penalty..

Even Roman Abromovich was caught smiling on tv in his box...Thats unheard of!!

I don't care what team it is, when any side plays like this it's great to watch.

Comfortable win for Chelsea, I was rather disappointed with Pompey and expected a bit more from Crouch, Krankjar, Defoe and Co.

Compared to last season the blues played some very pleasant football indeed.

Final score Chelsea 4 -0 Portsmouth

I don't say it often but well done to the Chelsea today for the football they played..

Deco was the star of the show and finished his afternoon's work with a nice goal...

I also agree that Portsmouth were disappointing in the match and I expected much more.

Pompeys midfield were non existent in this match and shouldnt have bothered turning up.

I can't believe i enjoyed a chelsea match!
If they can keep that up and with Drogba they could walk the league this year. Gonna be interesting!

The scoreline was good for Chelsea.

But the way they went about it was an eye brow raiser.

I wonder where Spacnur is to tell us that Diarra is a god and Deco is rubbish.

What formation did Chelsea play?

On MotD they put up a 4-3-2-1 formation.

Very interesting.

They played

Cech in goal.

Then a back four with Bosingwa and Ashley Cole playing really attacking ala Cafu/Roberto Carlos

Mikel as the holding midfielder and Anelka through the middle up front.

The other four midfielders seemed to all have free roles with Deco, Lampard, Ballack/Malouda and Joe Cole pretty much free roaming where they pleased.

Should be very interesting to watch them next weekend.

Was good to watch, the highlights at least.

Cole and Bosingwa attacking like full-backs never before and thats quality. Hopefully Cole can do better this season, sure he will.

Nice easy passing and movement, makes all the difference and a midfield like that will be hard to compete against. Even Man Utd will look silly against them.

Great goal from Deco. Though he does need a slap for that tackle. We dont do things like that over here in England, Portugese one.

Yes Chelsea crowned champions after one game. Ah well Man Utd will have to try again next season.

With all the olympic action only just got to watch this game. Chelsea looked very strong and easily handled a not too bad team.Deco had a decent game ,better than i imagined from him to be honest. His goal was very good ,but James should have had that.I can count on one hand the amount of times david james has been beaten by long range shots. It's just very rare that that happens.Harry needs a good talking o his boys ,as they seemed to loose interest early in the game.
