Bristol Rovers have snapped up Charlton Athletic teenager James Walker on loan.

The striker will spend the next month with the League Two club in a bid to build up his first-team experience.

He has yet to make an appearance for Charlton, but could feature in his new side's game with Hereford United on Wednesday.

Walker undertook a loan spell at Hartlepool United last season, making four appearances, before being released by Alan Curbishley at The Valley.

But Curbishley's managerial successor Iain Dowie handed the 18-year-old a second chance and he impressed in pre-season.
