Use this thread for all Coppa Italia action in Italy. I know it's abit late to start one as it's already up to the QF's but it can be used for future years :) Maybe a sticky? ,;)

Inter too good for Empoli

Inter Milan took their Serie A form in to the Coppa Italia with a 2-0 win at Empoli in the first leg of their quarter-final.

Adriano put Inter ahead with 18 minutes to go and defender Ivan Cordoba doubled the advantage late on.

Luis Figo, who has reportedly agreed to join Saudi Arabian side Al Ittihad at season's end, played the whole game for the Serie A leaders.

Brazilian Mancini has inspired AS Roma to a 2-1 home win over Parma in the first leg of their Italian Cup quarter-final.

Sampdoria survived being reduced to nine men late on as Luigi Sala's first-half goal gave them a 1-0 home win over Chievo.

Its now officially a sticky!

Fratelli d'Italia
L'Italia s'è desta
Dell'elmo di Scipio
S'è cinta la testa.
Dove'è la Vittoria?.
Le porga la chioma;
Chè schiava di Roma
Iddio la creò.
Stringiamoci a coorte,
Siam pronti alla morte:
Italia chiamò!

Noi siamo da secoli
Calpesti e derisi,
Perchè non siam popolo,
Perchè siam divisi;
Raccolgaci un'unica
Bandiera, un speme;
Di fonderci insieme;
Già l'ora suonò.
Stringiamoci a coorte,
Siam pronti alla morte:
Italia chiamò!

Uniamoci, amiamoci;
L'unione e l'amore
Rivelano ai popoli
Le vie del Signore:
Giuriamo far libero
Il suolo natío;
Uniti per Dio
Chi vincer ci può?.
Stringiamoci a coorte,
Siam pronti alla morte:
Italia chiamò!

Dall'Alpi a Sicilia
Dovunque è Legnano
Ogni uom di Ferruccio:
Ha il cuor e la mano.
I bimbi d'Italia
Si chiamano Balilla:
Il suon d'ogni squilla
I vespri suonò.
Stringiamoci a coorte,
Siam pronti alla morte:
Italia chiamò!

Son giunchi che piegano
Le spade vendute:
Già l'Aquila d'Austria
Le penne ha perdute.
Il sangue d'Italia
E il sangue polacco
Bevè col Cosacco
Ma il cor le bruciò
Stringiamoci a coorte
Siam pronti alla morte:
Italia chiamò!

It's not sure if he'll play...There was an article in Il Romanista about the game...and was written that he is doubtful but Wilhelmsson is probably going to have his debut in AS Roma... :)

Inter Milan 2 - 0 Empoli (4 - 0 aggregate)

Roma were defending a 2-1 first-leg lead at Parma and made it through by drawing 2-2 in the second leg at the Stadio Ennio Tardini.

Inter will play Sampdoria in the semi-final after the club from Genoa progressed 3-1 on aggregate against Chievo with a 2-1 win in the second leg in Verona.

Who do you think is going to go through mate?

I reckon Roma will after playing the 1st leg away. They get a goal or 2 and they're in the driving seat.

Roma and Inter to go through :)

tazz

It's tricky...inter will go through...But Roma's opponent is one that this will be only chance of winning something (it's far more easy than CL...). But a positive thing is that Roma is playing the second leg at home...

Totti' problem is that he's only able to score penalties when he shoots on his left, and with the Cucchiaio
