Birmingham 'in hunt for Basinas'

Birmingham have made a £750,000 bid for Panathinaikos midfielder Angelos Basinas, according to reports.
The Euro 2004 winner is seen as a replacement for Darren Carter, who is set to join West Brom in a £1.75m deal.

Basinas, 29, was a regular for Greece at Euro 2004 and has been at Panathinaikos since 1995.

Manchester City and Portsmouth are also interested in the defensive midfielder, who made his international debut against El Salvador in 1999.
