I really hope someone can help you wiz_kid but before that, how about you going to the Newcomer's section to introduce yourself first?

Hello Wiz-kid, your first badge is the FA level 1, it's easy enough, they show you how to organise training sessions and small-sided games, although to be honest it is aimed more at junior and youth team managers and coaches. Level 2 is a bit more involved, obviously, but the emphasis is on your coaching ability, not your standard of football. Don't be worried that you're not good enough to pass, they're there to help you, not knock you back, you do have to do your part by working hard, but if it's what you want, then you'll do that anyway, so, get in touch with your local county FA, and go for it, hope this is of use to you,
Paul

You should be able to get on to level 1 anywhere. This is almost a garanteed pass, if you dont pass this one i would suggest not bothering with coaching at all. However, YOU WILL PASS so dont worry.

Level 1 is very basic, teaches you about some drills and concentrates mainly on youth football. Level 2 is a totally different kettle of fish, Level 1 doesnt prepare you for it in my opinion.

Like it has been mentioned, your footballing ability is not the main part of the courses, it has nothing to do with Level 1 anyway, level 2, I would suggest brushing up on some technique and practicing certain things with the ball, this is just so you can demo better. However in "real football" its well known that you can always get someone else to demo for you. So no worries there.

If you are already coaching, you will probably find level 1 is not testing and also you only learn one or two things you did not already know. All the same, more and more places are expecting you to have your level 1 now as a minimum requirement to get onto level 2, and i would suggest taking it. Also you get your emergency aid certificate and child protection (which are needed for level 2).

Good luck and keep us posted on how you get on. You should be fine.
