I stopped watching when the score became 2-0. the match was very bad, from both sides.
The dutch attack couldn't force any danger at all. the referee was a loser, he was as worse as all the players on the pitch. that penalty was hilarious!!

Young Holland is very lucky that italy and denmark made it 3-3..so there still is a chance.

The Dutch earned a 1-0 victory and sent Italy home on a 74th minute header from Daniël de Ridder..... They now will play group A winners France on Thursday (1st of June) for the chance to meet the winner of the Ukraine - Serbia and Montenegro winner in the Finals on Sunday the 4th of June.......

And again I think we were very lucky because we played against a italian team, which mains the only defend and are waiting for that one counter. Fortunately, Daniël de Ridder scored the only goal of the game. Next round, semi-finals, France...my opinion: it's the best team so far so I think we don't have a very big chance of going through to the final. we only have a chance when we play muc much better then we did in the Group-stage.

It's nice to see the comparisson with the dutch team in 1988 Wink

Again very lucky? I thought we deserved some luck after that terrible game against Ukraine..

I think Holland did a good job!! They definetely deserved this win.. Especially cause there was one team playing football.. and that was Holland..

It was also good to see how Huntelaar worked for the team. Also with the goal.. he had 4 defenders surround him.. and walked away.. everyone walked with him.. And De Ridder had only to deal with one defender.. Very good job!!

France is next!! Twisted Evil

Stef, you are a breath of fresh air! It seem the Dutch press as well as the fans are always so negative, they always see the glass as 'half empty' instead of 'half full', and it's beyond me why they are like that.

No disrespect intended here AFCA, but they did not choose Italy to play, and it's not there fault if Italy chose to play there normal game (zzzzzzzz....), it's a tough game to play against, so getting the goal for the win when not only winning was required, but goal difference would come into play as well is something they need to be commended on.

I feel they deserved the win, and again, nothing wrong with a bit of luck. Every team needs luck in a tournament........As far as France goes, they have a quality side and the Dutch side will need to play better to advance.....It will be interesting...... Wink

by luck I'm mean that they scored a goal against Italy although they didn't really had a good oppertunity for 90 minutes. there were some possibilities ( Confused ) but there weren't real chances. from that point of view it was lucky that the first chance in the game was a goal. against an Italian team I call that lucky, because were allways better against Italian teams, but it's so damn hard to score against them.

17 minutes into the second ET and the Dutch have grabbed a 3-2 lead on the second goal of the evening for Hofs....

note: France has been reduced to 10 players when goalscorer Faubert was sent off in the 14th minute for a second yellow.....

What a game!! WOOOHOOO!!

The goal from Huntelaar was soooo beautiful!! What a great guy!! Smile

Hofs made an important goal.. But then he had to make things right again for making hands what gave France a free-kick.. (which became 2-2 in 85' minute..)

If I have a link for the goal of Hunter I put it here!! It was amazing!!

FINAL HERE WE COME!!

HUP HOLLAND HUP!!
