The news today was that George Best wanted to see a united Ireland team?

Can this happen - surely it would be like England joining forces with Le Blue! {France}

Surely they should be kept seperate - 2 different countries with their own pride and passion!

Let them be!

In my view there is no way this should happen - its an opinion but a fact! - Each country should be kept with its own individuality! - North and South divide!!!!

Im Irish and im against the idea. The only reason Best wants it is because their team is so bad. I honestly cant think of one player Ireland would want from NI.

If they're separate nations they should be separate teams. Would be the same with Scotland and England(we wouldn't want any of their players!)

i agree wouldnt make a difference to Ireland, but id still like to see them Unite, but no Northern Ireland players would play, unless maybe Neil Lennon comes back.

We wouldnt need him though with Roy Keane, Ireland wouldnt benefit at all if it happened, NI wouldnt have any players playing.
Look at the rugby, the most you ever see is about 2 NI players and the rest are from the Republic.
