Doncaster Rovers Belles have announced that 26 year old England International goalkeeper, Leanne Hall, has agreed to join the club and become manager John Buckley's first signing of the summer.

Belles had to beat off strong opposition for her signature, with a couple of other Premier League teams and a Division One team very interested in taking her to their respective clubs.

Leanne is a big presence and brings with her a wealth of experience, having been capped by England over 20 times and playing regularly for a number of years in the Women's Premier League.

This will be Leanne's second spell with the club, as she spent six happy years at Doncaster from 1995 to 2001. Leanne then moved on to Leeds United, before joining Fulham.

Leanne will compete with Catherine Beaver and Clare Farrow for the number one jersey for the forthcoming season.

The Belles expect many more arrivals this summer, with a lot of work going on behind the scenes to bring in the quality necessary to help the club break into the top three.

I'm sensing trouble. The Belles were quite good the last season,
and finished it at the 4th spot.
Now they are getting a decent goalie too... Shocked
Should Arsenal, Everton & Charlton fear them? Cool

I don't think the top three will fear them , Arsenal didn't fear Charlton last season as they had a good squad plus Copey. We'll have to wait and see who else joins them as a good goalie doesn't mean the team are gonna be unbeatable Smile Arsenal , Charlton and Everton will also add players I'm sure over the summer to strengthen their already good squads , but I do think the league will be more closer as the rest seem to have caught up a bit Smile

If the summer transfers go through that I have heard, the league will be wrapped up before the season has started. Trust me, they will not be able to touch this team, and probably in Europe as well.

Put your money on it now.

Can we bet on women's footie besides the big competition ?
I was in Blackburn for england France and they would not take a bet for the first goalscorer in the stadium.

I was at the game too. Where I was sitting there was a little Will Hill box, and the only bets on the paper were the correct scores. No score cast (correct score and scorer).

However Will Hill on line did do first goal scorer.
