Not sure how this will go, Titos first Clasico and his first real test as boss. Think Madrid will get a draw and finish the job at their place, hope im wrong though as it would be good for Tito to put a marker down for the season, although it meant nothing last season.

What a second half!
Ronaldo put RM 1-0 up with a header from a corner but Pedro soon equalised to make it 1-1. Barca then won a penalty when Iniesta was fouled and Lionel Messi stuck it away to take a 2-1 lead. Tito Vilanova's side then went 3-1 ahead when the magicians Iniesta and Xavi combined to go into a 3-1 lead. The 1st leg and Super cup then looked all over but a blunder by Valdes let Di Maria in to finish the match 3-2. Los Blancos are still in with a chance then of winning this trophy when the two clubs play the 2nd leg at the Bernabeu next week. The only thing that spoiled this game for me was the blatant diving of Alexis who twice tried to cheat and win penalties. Any comments on tonights result? |

Thankfully caught the second half. Very entertaining.
Don't know what Valdes was doing for the second goal. Credit to Di Maria for chasing the ball. Seems the same old Barcelona, under a different manager. Same amount of possession/passes etc, with the end result. Despite the score, it's advantage Real Madrid with 2 away goals and a goal defecit to make up. |

Will be an interesting second leg, given the weekend fixtures in between will likely see a few changes to the starting line ups. Very entertaining second half after a shut out in the first, same old problems for Barca with complacent defending but not too worried as Alba and Puyol were on the bench. We tend to do better at the Bernabeu as the Madridistas wont stand for a shut out making the game a little more open but alot will depend on which attackers are available, I doubt Xavi will play the 2nd leg. Pedro looks to have rediscovered his form and thats great news going into the season.

Last night was the real feast for me, as I don't have a channel broadcasting Liga BBVA. First of all, I must say that I wasn't disappointed. As I thougt, Barcelona had a massive advantage in ball possesion, but in the first half it didn't give them anything. I will even say that Real had better opportunity to score, however it was their only one! Second half was much more interesting and I was delighted to see Ronaldo scoring first. Then Barca was forced to attack more strongly, because the results 0:1 and even 1:1 at Camp Nou weren't good for them looking forward to the revenge in Madrid. And as I expected, they scored 3 times. Hopefully Di Maria scored another goal for Real and they have big chance to win the Super Cup. Some people say that result isn't fair. Barcelona took the full control over the game, but they had no profits from this. They played much more in the middle of th pitch than around Real's penalty area. That's why I got a a bit bored in the first half.

The 2nd leg of the Spanish super cup takes place on Wednesday night at the Bernabeu.
Real Madrid could give a home debut to their new signing Luka Modric as they look to overturn a 3-2 loss from the 1st leg. Any comments or predictions? - Its another 9.30pm late kick off so it will be almost midnight in the Spanish capital when this is over! |

Not sure how this will go, hopefully will be an open game as Madrids fans dont like defensive football. Got a feeling Madrid will turn this around though and take the cup. Mascherano will make his 100th appearance for Barca if he gets the nod tonight and a goal from Messi will make him Barcas top goalscorer in clasicos.

Real Madrid 2-1 Barcelona What a first half that was dominated by Los Blancos! Barcelona had Adriano sent off and went down to 10 players. It didn't stop Lionel Messi though from scoring an incredible free kick just before the break. Its now 4-4 on Aggregate and could go either way in the 2nd period. |

OMG MESSI IS A GOD!!!!! Under that circumstance, what a difficult first half and u can clearly see Messi is not happy with the game progress, he then takes that freekick to perfection, OMG I BOW TO U FOOTBALL GOD! MESSIAH~!! SAVE US~!
What a terrible start we had, it happens every time in the classicos, disappointing.... |

Cant believe this loool....and so Valdes' mistakes proves the difference, meh. We were better over 2 legs despite 10 vs 11 in the second leg we rode our luck, but we played so well both times.... it really was Valdes mistake....he better make up for it this season, since hes just prone to bad mistakes still which didnt cost us in the times b4, but finally have now.
Proud of the players, im sure this will be behind us very fast. For Real this shall be the last trophy they win this season |

Welcome back Learning! What do you mean Valdes' mistakes? Mascherano was at fault for Real Madrid's 1st goal that Higuain scored. Pique then allowed Ronaldo to flick the ball over his to put Los Blancos 2-0 ahead. Barcelona's keeper had nothing to do with it and I would be more unhappy with your defenders. |

Played really well 2nd half, even having the better chances, but again we are bemoaning the errors at the back, sloppy doesnt do it justice. Really annoyed at Masch for his error and Pique shouldve done better with his too. On the plus side Montoya came on and looked more assured than Adriano and Pedro and Tello look like they have form. Song came on and didnt fair too badly neither.
All in all a good two games and more of what we want to see rather than the ill tempered affairs weve had. Just worry how this effects the season mentally, we had them on the ropes at the Camp Nou and they survived through our shoddy defending again, same s**t, different season. Tito has his work cut out, how we need Bartra or Fontas to be a decnt CB! |
