Everton v Man Utd |
|
Everton had a good and bad season ....just missing out on a place in Europe , but finishing above merseyside rivals Liverpool in 7th place in the table , manager David Moyes will want to start the new season well and has brought in a couple of new signings to help with that , Steven Pienaar from Tottenham and Steven Naismith from Rangers ...what a game though to start with ..Man Utd ..
Man Utd players and fans were in utter despair last season as they lost their Premier League title to neighbours Man City , manager Sir Alex Ferguson has vowed to win the title back this season and the late signing of Robin Van Persie from Arsenal could well give them the edge this season ..the form of Wayne Rooney will also be crucial as Man Utd try to add to their record haul of league title . |

I think Man U have too much fire power for Everton in this one ,that's if Fergie uses them . Kagawa and RVP are about the best singing's any team has made this season and players that will give man u a boost in player performance for sure.
If FErgie didn't make those signings i would see Everton getting a result out of this game ,but not now . |

It will be a very hard and important game. as you know Everton is the most annoying rival for United. I hope to see in this game new players as RVB and Kagawa. I don't wish the winning as in the last season. I wish a draw. It will be better than winning. and the draw should be not such: We was winning but Everton scored in the last moment. The game should be equal.
2:2 Quality of Vanga. |

Usually a decent game between these two at Goodison Park, looking forward to seeing how Van Persie slots into United's lineup and if Kagawa is the solution to their midfield conundrum.

I think this game should be a perfect measuring stick to see how Kagawa fits in ,the opposition isn't too tough ,but it's the first game of the season so they should have a bit more fight. I am not too worried about RVP as he's a prem vet already, but the pace of the game is what Kagawa needs to get used to. WIth the way United play he may find it hard to begin with ,but his intelligence should hep him in no time. |

Robin Van Persie starts on the bench,
Michael Carrick plays at centre back while Antonio Valenica has to fill in at right back. If Everton can put Man Utd under pressure maybe they could take advantage of their defensive problems... |

Everton 1-0 Man Utd FT
Everton were superb and deserved to beat Man Utd,they never gave them any time to settle on the ball and kept on attacking... Superb display and more proof once again that the premier league is the best, any one can beat anyone and it's great to see. |

Well done to Everton!
They really deserved the 3 points tonight and Fellaini was just unplayable. Man Utd look to be very vulnerable in defence at this moment in time and better hope their injured players come back soon. |

Nani was poor...should have been brought off at half time.
Cannot take anything away from Everton though - they were excellent tonight. They are going to be tough to beat this season. |

Fellaini was immense in this game ,absolutely immense . Big impact in a big game against a big team ,just how a player should be judged by! Also big performances by Ditstin followed by very good performances by Jagielka and Osman. Overall very good team performance by Everton. I pick Everton to beat Man u every season but this one and they beat them ffs Kagawa looked good started slow making intelligent passes and not trying too hard ,but basically getting a feel for the flow of the game. HIs pass completion rate v turnovers must be one of the best the league has ever had. Later in the game he looked a lot more active making very good runs ,drawing players off of Rooney , and making one touch passes rather than holding to the ball too long like some attention starved players do. He made a play in the box that typified his superior intelligence ,by passing the ball to Cleverly ,when others would have tried to turn and take a shot he didn't have. RVP was an absolute non factor, in fact for the majority of the time he was on the pitch you didn't even know he was there! NO doubt he will be better than this and he is low on match fitness. Great result though well deserved. |

Always a laugh to see Man Utd lose. Why Fellaini isn't at a top club is beyond me. More goals on the way.

Great win for Everton and an impressive performance. Feillani was simply unplayable at times - his control was superb, he won everything in the air and brought others into the game regularly. There was also some good interplay on show between him, Osman, Pienaar and Jelavic.
An enormous defensive effort from Moyes' men too, Jagielka and Distin were immense and Hibbert also made a number of good tackles as the game wore on. It was a real backs to the wall job for the final 25 minutes or so and they stood up to the challenge well. As for United, it all looked a bit uninspiring and disjointed at times. De Gea kept them in it at times in the first half while Carrick really struggled in that makeshift defensive role. Thought Kagawa had a fairly tidy debut, used the ball well and very rarely wasted the ball. |
