Celtic v Juventus - 12th February |
|
Celtic are now flying away with the SPL title and even
better news for Hoops fans was that they managed to keep hold of striker Gary Hooper in the January transfer window. Juventus currently lead Serie A by 3 points and have Antonio Conte back in charge as manager after he was suspended for match fixing. The old lady have signed Nicholas Anelka until the end of the season. Do you have any comments or predictions? - This will be live on ITV1 at 7.45pm. |

Did you know that this is the first time Celtic have reached the last 16 of the Champions League since 2007/08. They’ve never progressed further.
Any comments or predictions for Tuesday nights match? |

Rofl Celtic got absolutely done.
Classic Italian football right here, who would have thought that tactics and strategy matter more than getting the ball into the box as often as possible. |

juventus showed there an average team on the ball to me. pirlo and buffon are the only world class players they have. they did not deserve a 3 nil win. a few sloppy mistakes from celtic was there undoing. celtic actually played well

delighted Juventus smashed them.
for all the talk of noise from a bunch of drunken jocks having any kind of impact on the game it was hilarious to see this unfold. their season is now over. |

Risky stuff from Juve, but it paid dividends in the end. Seemed content to concede large amounts of possession to Celtic, who never really threatened too much, and then devastated them on the break.
I didn't think the officials were as bad as some made out in certain aspects of the game, but some of the defending at corners was ludicrous. Stephan Lichtsteiner was extremely fortunate not to give away at least one penalty for persistently manhandling Gary Hooper. |

Juve....still underrated it seems by many. Marchisio, Vucinic, Matri, Lichsteiner, etc, all underrated.... and they have set a new era in Serie A again for Juve, and really going for it in the CL now. I havent watched them a lot, but they shouldnt be underestimated!

i dont juve played that well. two big mistakes were the reason celtic lost and some poor finishing with a couple of chances. juve werent impressive on the ball at all. as for the lichsteiner hooper incident. all i saw was lichsteiner keeping hooper away from buffon with his chest. if anything hooper looked like he was running into lichsteiner trying to get to buffon. but i did see other juve players handling celtic players

No offence mate, but you clearly weren't watching very closely. Hooper was attempting to stand somewhere in Buffon's vicinity (which he is perfectly entitled to do, provided he is not impeding him) and Lichtsteiner was wrapping both of his arms around him to keep him away - this occurred every time Celtic had a corner in the first half. He practically wrestled him to the ground on more than one occasion. |

maybe i missed seen him wrap his arms around him but i did see him shield buffon with his chest and hear itv commentators say its not fair. to me he was just standing in front of buffon and hooper was trying to get through him. but im sure he did wrap his arms around him at other times and i saw alot of other juve players fouling
