I am a MU fan and although it has been said that country comes before club Twinkle Toes wants his head examininig for getting involved in the decision to send Rooney off. Personally I would buy his ticket to spain and good ridance, he could have just observed from wherever he was the decision of the referee and nobody would have bothered but I can guarentee that both MU fans and opposition will make their feelings known with his every kick of the ball next season.

damn! don't you people understand that Rooney was playing for england and ronaldo for portugal? when he plays in manchester, he plays in manchester and he supports the team he's playing, regardless of the enemy.. Laughing saying that he did wrong.. that's pretty stupid of you all. you know what? i remember when i was a kid still and i hated figo for scoring a penalty shoot against the portuguese team that made him the player that he is (and it's my team). but then i grew up and i didn't hate him anymore. you should do just the same. remember england - holland? did you see deco (portugal) freaking out with the duth players? do you remember those scenes where he was sit down along with two of his team mates (from holland) in the club he's working now? do you remember how they commented the game and where friendly towards one another? Rooney is a kid. he still has to grow and get rid of himself of that turbulent temper (kick in the nuts) and be able to understand that what goes in the pitch, stays in the pitch.

it was sad to see Rooney disappointed. ronaldo shouldn't have done such a thing. Rooney is so young, he still doesn't understand.. even without ronaldo intervaining, the card was already decided, i think it was unnecessary from ronaldo's part (and i think he wanted a yellow, not red) but Rooney and ricardo carvalho are both ronaldo's teammates, and he was in the same team with the last one, it's understandable that he got infuriated.. the wink? probably because ronaldo though that portugal was going to win after Rooney got banned.

Unfortunately you feel bad because of the england loss. Ronaldo did nothing wrong. There is nothing wrong in complaining to the referee. Ronaldo did not give him the card. Rooneys reaction got him the card. The funny thing is what you guys dont know is thats all you can say for the England national team; they fought bravely, the where determined the player has pace, the english players dont cheat..(crap) have you seen joe coles dives, Crouch pulling the trinidad players hair to score the goal, the keeper pretending to be injured to waste time. When England does it nobody mentions it and it is not cheating. When others do it they are big cheats. Look at france today...when you talk about big players living up to expectation on the world stage. England dont have big players....enthusiasm, zeal yea but no skills...check zidane viera makalele out and compare them to lampard gerrard and beckham...OVERRATED.

You've lost yesterday and you've lost before and with different squads... Get over it and stop blaming others for your teams mistakes.

If you look player by player most of them did not perform more than average over the competition

Robinson : Where is the world class goalkeeper a lot of people here were claiming he was ?
I think he needs to play in the good team to play top level football.

Neville : Not enough influence when needed due to injury, unlucky in Wc tournaments.

Ferdinand / Terry : steady and marshalled the defence correctly through the tournament

Cole : Due to lack of competitive games before the tournament could not bring his attacking side as he does normally

Campbell : Dodgy against Sweden

Carragher : More consistent with Liverpool

Beckham : Fitness problem + injury but dead ball top class quality

Carrick : not up to the level required

Lampard : disappointing and burnt out

Gerrard : not enough impact

Hargreaves : Maybe the only one who performed at his normal club level

Downing : good learning curve for him

Lennon : did well as an impact sub

Cole : a correct display at the beginning , disappeared in the knock out stage

Rooney : handicapped by his injury and his testosterone level, great player otherwise.

Owen : poor tournament

Crouch : did well and performed accordingly to his premership level.

Lol so true, should really face reality. England doesnt have to win every game, fans of england (including myself) would just have to accept losing and not expect to win on every
game and start being more mature and grow up instead of whining. There is always next time =]
