A team full of cheats? What do you have to say about Owen diving agaisnt Argentina to win a penalty? Gerrard agaisnt Hungary? Joe Cole always dives! JOhn Terry fouls Tiago and then starts rolling around on the pitch like he has been shot, drama queen or what?!!? Crouch the robot always making fouls on defenders. Beckham and that famous kick agaisnt the argentine player? Your precious England cheats too but apparently that is only a crime when it's done agaisnt you right? Rolling Eyes
England lost on saturday because their overpaid ballerinas can't take decent penalty kicks. You playing with less 1 man is no excuse, Portugal was in the same situation agaisnt Holland and we won.
Ronaldo is not to blame for Rooney pathetic behaviour, he was desperate to score and couldn't handle the fact that the portuguese defence was doing a pretty good job marking him, so being the pathetic little thug he is he takes it all out on Carvalho.
Whats this bull that Rooney is Ronaldo's Team-mate? Hmmm hello are you people forgetting that Carvalho is also Ronaldo's team-mate? They were born in the same country and play in the same National Team, being a man Ronaldo knows that being stamped on his privates would be extremely painful. He knew Rooney was wrong to that and he stood up for his friend Carvalho who was rolling on the floor in pain. Good on Ronaldo for making sure Rooney was punished. And that wink, well Rooney had just stamped on one of his friends and then was aggressive to him too by pushing him TWICE, what did u want Ronaldo to do? Cry his heart out for Rooney?
You want to get mad at someone then go get mad at your own players, they earn millions and win nothing. Just like your coach, 25 million he won in 5 years wasn't it? And what did you get? Nada!
Take your frustration somewhere else and stop bullying people. Euro 2004 you bullied the swiss ref and now you are going to bully a 21 year old kid? Shame on you.

It really is typical of the English isn't it? You are such sore losers! I bet you all ran out onto the street afterwards and bashed people up too? Maybe it's time to accept that England is just a team of champions... not a champion team! Gerrard, Lampard and Rooney played crap. But do you mention this? Why don't you send Rooney to an Anger Management Course and then ask him to represent your country again? He is the one who let you down... Not Ronaldo. Typical pommy whingers!!!

i love these discussions....it is true that we just did not play well enough , Gerrard , Lampard and Rooney were well below par and we can blame that on Sven £25 million waste of money Goran Eriksson .

There is a lot of venom out there directed at Ronaldo but I have read none directed at Rooney. What gives? Is it okay to stamp a guy's nuts as long as it's a game? Yeah so he got a red card - but why is everyone dumping on Ronaldo? Maybe he winked at the bench - maybe he had something in his eye (like sweat?) maybe he was just taking credit for something he didn't really do? I highly doubt that refs in a world cup match make up their minds on the protests (however hot-latin-temperamentally expressed) of 21 yr old primadonnas (not my word - it's his nickname i'm told). Ronaldo is cocksure and confident and needs some growing up - but who of us wouldn't be if head-hunted at 17 and given a record-breaking contract with Man Utd?

Rooney is the one at fault - and if he has a temper problem (and he seems to) he needs to address it or he will never stay on the field long enough to live up to his promise. It's all about control and that's why Zizou is king.

Frankly, I doubt Ronaldo will ever have the depth that Zidane has but he is lovely to watch on the ball.

Well we may suffer a few defeats along the way but genearaly Scotland has little to do with it..If you need to rely on other teams all the time then it just proves how weak your own nation is..

A Scotsman commenting on Cricket and Rugby to a nation that has The Ashes and the Rugby World Cup , now that is funny Laughing

The last thing that was seen in the Scottish trophy hall was a tumbleweed Laughing

Is Ronaldo a cheat ? if there is a contact at the leg level between a defender and an attacker that leads to unbalance the attacker it is always a foul as contact is only allowed at shoulder level.
Does he dive ? sometimes maybe is he the only one ? not at all ?
The scapegoat thing is quite Rolling Eyes to be honest.

all of the players' qoutes are definatley genuine, with segments of each interview in every major publication and website over the last few days.

so they players feel the same as we do....

If, 2 seconds into the 15, Rooney goes down and grabs the ball, then England have no trouble

Argh enough with the damn excuses already. What's there to see? Pauleta smiling and Rooney doesn't look upset after the head thing from Ronaldo, you english are always looking for excuses aren't you?
Stop looking for a scapegoat. Rooney lost his temper and that's what got him a red card. Ronaldo talks to the ref, so what? What's the big deal? I have seen the english players do that before! If u notice on that video right after stupid Shearer say your players never surround the referee, what do u see? The english surrounding the ref Laughing And who is Ian Wright to say anything about cheating when he said on tv that if cheating is what would take for England to win the wc then so be it. Shearer and Ian Wright's faces said it all, they were mad they lost and started looking for a scapegoat.
Ronaldo winks, big deal. Do you think he would be feeling sorry for Rooney after he stamped on Carvalho and got aggressive with him pushing him twice? Of course not!
All these excuses are so lame and it's getting boring now. First it was Beckham, then it as the swiss ref and now Ronaldo. U lost and that's that, quit the whinning and the silly excuses.

This video shows the outrageous lack of impartiality of the English media. I especially laughed at the part when one of the commentators said something like: "We [England] never do that, trying to put pressure on the referee. What are we? Are we too honest?" This is absolutely unbeliavable and I'm sure that, if you put your English feelings aside and started looking at this in an objective way, you'd think the same!

I have no clue about what's your idea of "being innocent" in a football match. Yes, Ronaldo argued with the referee, but that's what Rooney would probably do if one of his teammates got kicked! What's so weird about that? Isn't the aggression enough for Rooney to be sent off? What's more, he did that right in front of the referee (considered, by the impartial and above all rational experts, as one of the best - otherwise he wouldn't be where he is)! It just doesn't make sense all this thing going around Ronaldo: now, in your blind and full of anger eyes he's a cheater, a player, a betrayer and so on. To me, what makes even less sense is the way the British press feeds this irrationality of the fans.
