Swindon Town are close to agreeing terms with former Cardiff City midfield player Willie Boland.
The Irishman, pictured right, was Cardiff City's longest serving player, having been at the club for seven years, and the last senior link with the pre-Sam Hammam days when he was released by manager Dave Jones.
Boland, 30, was out of contract at the end of June and among a number of players told he could go.
Dennis Wise is the new manager at Swindon and he is keen on Boland's battling qualities.
Yeovil Town are also interested in signing Boland, but it seems Swindon will win the race.
I believe this will be a very good signing for the Robins. And in my opinion Boland should stay with Cardiff, I still think Boland is good enough to compete at Championship level.
