Hi there I am 25 and would love to train at football. I am not very good and wondered if their are any courses for total beginners at my age.

Dont worry mate i started when i was 14 (pretty damn late!), and although i wont make the premiership i still keep my hopes up Very Happy. Anyway as for training or courses i dont know of any late starter courses, so the best thing to do would be to have a kick around with your mates and join a small team until you feel you are good enough for a larger team. On the whole i would say train with your friends for about 2 years then see if you can progress.

I fully agree with you on that late starters are severely neglected these days in football, and we seem to be losing sight of what the game is all about. FUN!

Best of luck mate

Hi Steven!!! I'm 25 too!!! Very Happy

It's not that I want to be a black cat but unfortunatly I think beggining football at 25 is too late Sad I played football in a club when I was 8 and I stop playing football in club when I was about 12 to start playing handball (for 1 year only). My team friends continued to practice football in the club, and later, after seeing them again, I just noticed that they mad progress in many little details (better oriented controls, etc.). That hurts me a bit because I was not bad at all, but it just show that there is always progress to make in football... Now I sometimes play football, but it's just for fun and to meet my friends, nothing more...

Anyway, I think that learning a sport or something else (a music instrument, chess, etc.) can be started at any age, you won't be a Maradona but it can be fun Smile But I wonder if you can find a club if you are not enough good, I don't know how the british system is, but here, to get the football licence to enter in a chosen club, you have to do during the first days a demonstration (because there are not enough places), then the club choose players that can integrate the club and make 2 teams (an "excellence" team that regroup the best players, and an "honor" team that regroup the other players, usually the "honor team" is a little younger because one category regroup 2 class of age). So if you haven't played football before, I think it will be hard for you to find a club! Sad

Unfortunately 25 is too old coz clubs want a big return on the investment capital that they spend on players and a player at 25 is already arguably half way thru his/her footballing career so its a big red X im affraid although still practice because it does make you a lot better and also fitter

Hey!!! I don't think he wanted to be a professional player!!! lol Of course he won't earn any money, he has to pay the football licence insteed!!! lol For a child, it's about 70e per year (about £50 per year), don't know how much it is in UK (I think it depends about clubs and age...).
