yep gift-wrapped penalties.
I personally think if Australia kept their defence well and lasted until penalty shootout they might have a chance against Italy. And although both France and Portugal was amazing during their semi-finals I found Portugal more determined and aggressive. France relying a bit much on defence. So Without the penalty the match really could have been either way. I would have liked to see Italy clash with Portugal though because of their football styles. Germany vs France would have been another great match to see. |

i think france with all their yellow card warnings tried to steal this game by holding back a little and not take to much risks, well it wasn't beautifull to see but they did it.
i think we must keep this in mind because if they got 3or4yellow cards well the final would be a laugh. so if we must judge france we must keep this in mind. |

Nobody's screaming here in Italy for the penalty given to France (well given).
We only screamed when we won Germany (grand match and very good team) and, in case, we'll scream if we'll won France. The rest is useless speech. |

Ricardo Carvalho did tackled Henry!
Penalty!! No doubt about it... As we, portuguese, told the english, I say to all the other portuguese chumps: we lost, get used to it! |

Scolari also said that there was a penalty on Henry.
However he also said there was one for Ronaldo but in that case, the replay is unforgiving... |

The title of the thread is wrong. Correct it. Neither team got a "gift". I believe both got a GENUINE penalty. Now, you can think what you like, but I bet you can't get everyone to agree with you that one or the other wasn't a penalty.
It's quite easy to work out my opinion, really: You'll see that in both penalties the defenders physically touched the attackers - that makes it a penalty. The attackers fell because of the contact. PENALTY. France didn't "try to steal" the game. But SOMEONE tried to get the ref to make some mistakes - guess who!!! |

Thank you for your honesty...You did a great match. Portugal is clearly one of the best team of the world |

DID you notice that portuguese players didnt complain the penalty? What does it mean? |
||||||||||
|
|

It means that they know they made a mistake and and Henry was smart, the penalty exists.
What they didnt know was 2 dual personalaty of the referee. |

about a penalty we can discuss forever,i personally think the italy/australia penalty was a laugh as was the henry dive.
i'm not against one or the other team mabe i prefer france to win but the way italy played against germany was pretty impressive so whoever wins it will deserve to,but what i'm saying is that the BIG teams get favorized in general. you don't have to agree with me i just think that's the case a lot of times. |

Everybody knows that but no one wants to admit it. Also everyone says [beep!] about Scolari cause hes the first sayin [beep!] about referees. |
