I can't support Germany because it's a french duty not to support Germany since what they did to us in 1982 lol, a traditional hatred. But in the other hand I hate the portuguese team... So a choice between a present and a past hatred!

I guess I will support Germany, because german people are kind and because I like their good-looking team this year, and because the portuguese team was not fair play in that world cup! (against the Netherlands, England and France...)

So...hum...damn, don't know what is the sentence to support Germany! lol

Lol! You talking about that attack by Schumacher on one of your players? Nasty stuff that was!! I believe they also put you out.

I want Germany to win, they deserve to, better to watch, contribute more to fair play. Portugal have problems scoring at times. For Germany though Lehmann, Freidrich, Mertesacker and Ballack will all be out likely to be replaced by Kahn, Huth, Janssen and Borowski.

It's not sure if Klose and Borowski are gonna play. They could be replaced by Neuville (would be great for me to see 2 Borussia players on the pitch Very Happy ) and Hitzlsperger.

I'm curious to see how my Borussia "youngster" Marcell Jansen will cope with Ronaldo or Figo (hope he gives them a tough fight Wink ) ...

Btw: I can't decide if I want to win or lose this game after taking a look at the statistics. Confused Laughing

No third place team from Europe ever qualified for the next European Championship. Turkey 2002, Croatia 1998, Sweden 1994, Italy 1990, France 1986 and Poland 1982 all failed to make it to the Finals. So if Portugal or Germany wants to play in 2008...

My bet:

Portugal 15 vs 0 Germany.
Portugal: 3 red cards (simulations) and 1 goes out to a pub to drink a beer.
Germany: 4 will go out to drink a beer with the other portuguese guy
C.Ronaldo: 5 goals
Maniche: 3 goals
Pauleta: 2 goals
Figo: 2 goals
gardener: 1 goal

Seriously who cares about this game! They just want to rest and go home.

Ok i bet Portugal 2 - 1 Germany
C.Ronaldo: 1 goals 1 assistance
Maniche: 1 goal
Klose: 1 goal

You say no European team has ever qualified for the European Championsips while finishing third in the World Cup eh? I would've thought you being German and all would clearly reject that rule, considering you finish third in 1970 and WON Euro 1972 Very Happy

Maybe fair play for you is pulling trinidad players hair to score goals or steping on other players' balls and blame the red card on c.ronaldo.

The match was very opened (maybe because it was a match without something behing!), well done Germany! Schweinsteinger (sorry if I did mistake lol) did 2 wonderful goals! Now doubt, Germany did the best and most beautiful goals of that world cup! It's a very attractive young team, good thing for its future! (ulike us that can't see how the future will be...)

Hey! It's not that I want to maintain a war in this forum, but how did you find C.Ronaldo? Damn! I thought that as it was a 3rd place match, players would make the show and would be more fair play! Nothing! Ronaldo dived twice in this match again... In fact, I said that he is a very good player (I'm still thinking it), but I notice that he has a weak point: he has the same problem as Denilson had, he has a too selfish game on the field! What do you think about it? He broked some actions without passing the ball (too often to me), and I remember his "crossed foot pass" (don't know how to say it in english, but you see the crossed feet pass that can do for example the urugayan player Recoba), a technical trick but useless because it was intercepted... So I wonder if the weak point of Ronaldo is giving too much of himself on the field? I don't want a war of course, it's just an interrogation, I just want to know your point of view! I guess that with experience (he is still young), he will be wiser, and will be a great player!

Congratulations Germany you play well.

Yes,i know that in the 1st time germany players dive quite often. And the ref. helped too.
Its true that Cristiano R made a bad bad dive one time and nobody touch him.He could have score but he dive.

Cristiano R. didnt deserved the title of best young player in ANYWAY.He didnt played to won that title. Sad

We played very badly again and we didnt justified the 3th place. Mad The players started to play a bit better in the final moments of the match.

Germany won fairly and square.

Great match from both sides and a fantastic after-game show! Very Happy I think both - Portugal and Germany - can be proud of their teams who achieved what nobody expected before the WC!!

What a superb Bastian Schweinsteiger Shocked Very Happy , why didn't he play on this level when he came in against Italy? Confused I'm also happy to see my Borussia youngster Marcel Jansen (20) performing well at his WC debute! Very Happy

Ronaldo was booed again, whereas Luis Figo and Oliver Kahn (who was fantastic, I think) received a warm applause after their last game for the national team.

Let's hope for a great final now!

Congratulations Germany!!! They did, in fact, play very well and proved they're builiding a team with and for the future!

I must say now that I feel very proud of the Portuguese team's performance in this WC. No one was expecting them to reach the semifinals and then playing two great games, first against France and then with Germany. Those players gave it all in all the matches they played and therefore deserved the prize of being among the 4 best of the world. Congratulations to them, too!

And, last but not least, OBRIGADA FIGO! You managed to be the heart of a 10-million-people country's football team and did it with all the dignity and "glamour" that 5 years ago gave you the prize of best player of the world.

I'm sad for losing the last two matches but happy with the 4th place that no one would have thought being possible.

Yep! Well done to Portugal too! It was sad to see the last match of Figo... It's a pity he didn't do the whole match tonight, he was decisive for the last goal!

Kahn and Figo tonight, and tomorrow Zizou Crying or Very sad I would really appreciate a final speech of Zizou, even after a loss, before quitting that world cup...

Germany played brilliant. The celebrations here in Germany are amazing you would think they won the cup!

Portugal played good and fairly for once apart from one player who was diving all over the place once again.

Congratulations to Germany and Portgal for giving us all a great game. Some of those Portugal counter attacks gave me a heart-attack, but we were able to hold them. If you ignore those two really obvious dives, I think Portugal played thier fairest and best game so far. I think they [beep!] the ref off and he didn't favor Portugal as a result, which is fair. Diving like that insults a ref, and no one will take kindly to that. Figo's cross was so perfect, even when I worried it might lead to Portugal making a late comeback, I was very impressed. What a header!!! Curse you Portugal for freaking me out!!! LOL!!!
Really smashing game...... wow.... Schwieni; you're the man. He had totally underachieved so far, playing OK in the middle, but mostly just assisting. I don't think Portugal really marked him as a threat, and that was thier downfall. It was funny; I was the only one in the pub wearing a Schweinsteiger jersey and as a result I was a hero for the game!!! Ha, ha, ha...... I think I lost my voice screaming.
Well done for Recardo this whole tournament, but those two strikes where completely amazing; who could have stopped them??? Thank you to the Portugese fans who took this game so well, and considering how your side played I take back some of my earlier anger toward them and can honestly say I like your team again for thier skill. Germany, I love you!!!! Smile

How did they cheat?? The ball bounced off the Portugese player, it's not Germanys fault that happend and even if it was, it's not cheating.
