Why is there suddenly a lot of hatred towards us English people from a lot of non english fans (excluding Germany fans).

I understand Scotland and Ireland fans being agianst England because its natural rivalry but now other foreigners (mainly portugese) have sed very offensive things about England and our people mainly just generlising on the few english people.

This is quite surprising aswell to say this is an english forum so why come on just to make negative comments about England to me thats just pathetic and shallow.

But I have to give credit to the German users who are very friendly despite the rivalry and history youl normaly find inbetween England and Germany.

Some of the important ones are:

1. Speak English only.
2. No foul or abusive language.
3. No insulting other members.
4. Posts in this section to be kept about the football, no politics, racism, no insulting countries etc.

FAILURE TO CONFORM TO THESE RULES WILL RESULT IN POSTS BEING EDITED AND IF IT CONTINUES USER WILL BE BANNED.

Otherwise, have a great time.

I think it's mainly the Scottish that are bad mouthing the English.
Portugal fans are just trying to stir up a row.
Argentine fans well we know the history behind that.
I aint got no problems with the German fans they have been friendly to everyone from every country.

In this day and age with everything thats happening in the world it's a shame we cant get along. End of the day it's a game of football not a war.

Anti-English? Noooo, I like English football and english people, specially women Laughing

Do you realize the hate that some of you have againt the Portuguese team?

If someone told you a story about this (pretending that England was another country), you'ld be surprised with that country 's reaction that's for shore! Rooney made a mistake and England just talk about Ronaldo. Is this normal? I dont think so. Portugal' players cheating all the time, bla bla bla, any profit of that? I dont think so!

It's clearly about that! But many of us should be just (or not) the passion for football of course Very Happy

They just locked the thread "Should England be baned from the cup" and they didn't lock the "Should Portugal be baned from the cup" ... How anti-England of them! (considering the thread "Should England be baned from the cup" was opened in response to the other one)

Why can't there be negative comments about England in a UK site?

And you don't understand why Portuguese might have something against English? If you hadn't noticed, the way Portugal was portrayed by the media 'divers' and 'cheaters' are hardly appropriate. The way I see it is Portugal fans are reacting defensively to all those comments. If you just drop by some Portugal related thread I am sure you would find those offensive comments you are after. To top it off the 'ihateronaldo' website, photoshop pictures of Portugal team in olympic diving teams. Please don't tell me you guys are ignorant enough to say you haven't seen them around.

I don't think the hatred is towards the GENERAL english population. I admired some England fans who admited their defeat was due to internal problems.

maybe (i'm not sure) but they are giving us the benefit of doubt that yes we are all equal and we all have our strong opinions......and some abuse the freedom of speech on the board...and the mods can't be everywhere all the time...they want us to ignore outright bigotry, racism or anti any country stuff.
'

it's sort of like the best games of the world cup thus far are the ones where the refs stayed out of the outcome of the game..unless it gets offensive.

i learned about a month ago to ignore the blantant bad stuff cuz they are trying to get attention.

and after tomorrow it's all over for 4 years.

yup i'm an england supporter and ya know what i know see that they had a lot of things to block them from winning the cup....i had blinders on to comments made because i was just so into wanting them to win for the first time since 1966....but they are not the 1966 team. maybe someday England will have the cup again (I hope I am alive to see it)....Smile

I only registred here because I was getting tired of the whole "you are a bunch of cheaters" comments refering to the Portuguese, as if the other teams don't do the same.

The first time I came here, was before the Portugal x France match and I must say that I never though of coming back because, as a Portuguese, I felt absolutely insulted, bashed and offended throughout these boards, thoughout several threads, not just one or two. And guess who the main bashers were... bingo, bitter British supporters.

With the "you are cheaters, I hate Ronaldo, and I'm gonna laugh when you lose" comments, I can live with because I dismiss it to denial over the loss, and well, opinions are opinions. But when I see members saying they are going to look out for the change they get when they come to Portugal, because, basing on the National team, we are nothing but a bunch of cheats and fakes, tell me exactly how that is NOT hatred, and how insulting it is to an ENTIRE nation! Tell me how the f*ck we are supposed to just sit back when comments like that arise, tell me how exactly are we supposed to not get p!ssed off and feel nothing but absolute disgust by this kind of attittudes?

By the same token, I may aswell advise every single guy I know who goes to England to look out for his testicles, for apparently, English have an habit on stepping on other man's nuts... Not nice, hun?

So you think you can offend other countries, and not expect a reaction from them? Plain wrong. What goes around, comes around, and apparently, you don't like it when YOU are the ones on the stand...

to put things in perspective visit this site in your spare time (you being the no one in particular you)

I saw a few of the white wrist bands (staying on topic)..when watching the games like in the crowd shots. I wear one and I use one as a pony tail holder and one on my backpack....they represent a very small effort towards helping make the world like one happy family (or at least a little better than before).....yes I have been accused of seeing the world through rose colored glasses.

www.one.org <<<<<<united (not the team) we stand as a World of all nationalities getting along the best we can and helping stop world hunger/poverty/aids at same time...(staying on topic....anti means against pro mean for...i'm pro Por)...Smile

I don't feel nothing against the english.
I only get annoyed when you say the spanish are racist. Maybe you don't realize it, but it's an insult for us. In most cases, you start this mini-wars, maybe not conciously, I don't know.
And the Portugal - England thing is getting annoying already... (from both sides)

There is a reason why people think Spanish are racist. Spanish fans hurling abuse at black players and not to mention Luis Aragones are just some of them. Maybe the problem has gone away but people never forget. It's like people still call English fans hooligans when there hasnt been any major trouble for years.
