...at least the worst that I know.

Penalty are always a worse ending...but the shocking foul by Zidane, France didn't shot the goal but was the better team the last 50 minutes, Italy was DEAD the whole extra time, they did NOTHING.
Italy played ONE good game which was worth to be a champion (against Germany)...I better don't say anything about the game against Australia.

Before the final I wanted France to win but after the foul by Zidane, I didn't care who will win.

This final was just...odd.
Is it just me or does anyone is thinking the same way?

I thought it was one of the best matches of this World Cup.

If you look back it was probably the best final for some twenty years.

The best was 98 I would say(for the last couple of years).


But the one today was just odd...okay, in the end it was Zidane who destroy this final for me, and maybe I'm thinking that Italy wasn't clearly the best team on the WC because I'm German .

BUT it's just sad: lucky Italy wins in penalty, the better team was France but on the other hand they also didn't deserve to win beacause of Zidane.

1990 was the worst or 1994

It was the worst, from my point of view.
But zizous act of madness made it entertaining in the end, though.

okay, I guess 1994 was real bad, I just can't remember it very well.
But in 1990 the best team won.

Okay, 2006 wasn't the worst, but I have this bad feeling in my stomach, because of the reasons above.

At least it was the worst for Zidane.

It was a terrible final, Italy didnt try to attack at all after half time and France didnt do much either. I was falling asleep from the boredom before the Zidane, at least it gave the game a talking point.

It was the worst World Cup final i've been old enough to remember. I was too young to care about football in the 1990 final, which is often none as the worst ever. I didn't watch the 1994 final for some reason, 1998 was a cracker, 2002 was good although i wanted a Germany win, but todays was boring for the most part.

I don't think so, the first half was one of the best in tournament and Italy had a little advantage. In the 2nd half, France had the huge advantage, but both teams played more cautious. In OT Italy had no more energy, imho understandable, they fought a hard match against Germany with OT, while France rested against Portugal. But France don't use their edge to finalize, so they got punishment in penalty-shootout.
But without doubt, I think both teams were the best of the tournament.

It was a good match I think.

Apart from 98 I think it was the best in a long time.

Is very hard to have an exicting match in final... 1986 was my favourite final 90-94 bleah 98 only one team in the field an 02 Brazil won with a Kahn's mistake.

'86 was good, but had the wrong champion , '90 was awesome (again ), '94 was crap, '98 was great, '02 was good (See '86) and this one was pretty interesting, though one team obviously just coldn't play better (Italy) and one was too afraid to play better (France).
In my mind, it will be kept forever as the unimportant final where Zidane killed his Magic!

The Brazil - Italy final in 1994 was the worst. Remember they played at 12 o'clock local time (Pacific time in Pasadena), it was so hot that both teams were stricken by apathy.
