Yes, Raul, the RED CARD was "totally deserved".

I'd give you a red card too, if your comment was in favour if Zidane.

The prize is ridiculous, Cannavaro or Pirlo should have clearly won...

He isn't french, he is swiss........

I don't really agree for Zidane but...

Lahm, Klose would have win it or Pirlo... But not Cannavaro at all...

Why not Cannavaro?

He doesn't miss a ball, i doesn't make an error in 7 matches.. he's the captain of the winning team.
Lahm? good player but with Argentina and Italy he played not so well... Klose? It's easy to score against Costa Rica and Ecuador...

Too many fouls (not always whistled by the referee but...)

He made errors yesterday but we didn't know how to score thanks to these errors... (malouda made him dancing...)

Zidane is a great player, everyone must agree that, but in this wc he didnt played so well all the time, just a few (very few) moments, so for me another player should won that title, but who?
It's very complicated to choose, so ZZ is always a good choice, maybe maniche, Pirlo, Figo, even C.Ronaldo, Klose or Kaka! )
Players like gatuso or cannavaro (he was a wall) deserve this title but they dont play like zz by miles (must be that!), even so Cannavaro or Pirlo deserved to be the best player more than zz!

Doest it satisfy all the conspiracy theorists ??

No! DEFENCE was the main factor that won the cup for Italy AND CANNAVARO the main factor on it
Zidane played like sh!t the most part of the World Cup with only one really good game as alredy said by most people in this board. MOST PEOPLE CANT BE WRONG!.

Cannavaro is a pit bull! Thank you.

Enough said.

Besides, if C. Ronaldo wasn't given the Best Young Player award for having lacked fair-play, despite having all the conditions to win it and a lot of talent (as FIFA said), what criteria was used now for giving the Golden Ball to Zidane? Rolling Eyes

Yes, thatīs what the all world asks in this moment! Rolling Eyes

Outrageous!!!

FIFA condemns the agressive teams and now aplauds an agressor?!

The Golden Ball was given to him as a lifetime achievement award.
Everyone knew he was retiring before the World Cup.
I wish I would have put money on ZZ to win it.
FIFA always do that crap.
Remember the greatest player in the world.
Between Pele and Maradonna.
Maradonna leaves the building before Pele even gets his award.

Do you really think that the young generation needs zinedine to learn and make bad things ?

never say or do something that you regret then? Are you all angels...if yes...the pope won't have enough time to sanctify each one of you.

No question that Zidane deserved player of this wc. With regards to the headbutt incident, we all agree that it was not called for, but Fifa and the Italian football association needs to address what was said (Which was probably racial). This is the problem with Italian football and european football for that matter, the racial attacks on the pitch. When italian footballers are given Nazi salutes to faciasts in the crowd (i.e De Canio), Italian officials need to act. Another example of Europian footballs problem is in Spain with the spanish coach and what he said about Henry. Instead of punishing him for his racial attacks, the spanish football group awarded him with an extension in his contract. As long as this face of football is around, it is hard to call the game, " The beautiful Game".

No, but they look up to him. He is an idol probably for millions of young footballers. And if you are, you have responsibility, if you like it or not. And when the kids see, hey, someone called me names, let's headbutt him, that's what the Superstarts do, even in a WC Final, it is not really ... ok. Wink

And at least it makes it hard work for parents to explain. And the comparism to corruption according to kids makes no sense, sorry.

Canavarro did well. I would like to see a Team with Canavarro and Ricardo Carvalho.

Well.. the prize was voted the day before the final so they didnt knew that Zidane was head butting Materazzi.
