now i supported for france, let's not beat around the bush,i hated that italy won because of the way the game went italy didn't deserve to win after france attacked for the whole 2nd half+the 30extra minutes.

thenn materazzi comes into action, zidane red card, without this incident,i couldn't say much bad about italy, just that they defended a long time but they did play pretty clean.

and lippi made some daring choises with little known players in the 11!

all these things could have won a lot of hearts but thenn this coward ruins all the work the italy team had done up to thenn.

so italians,i'm beeing pretty positive now,you have a pretty decent team exept that butcher.

i think italy will not loose much if he get's suspended.

they've got plenty of good defenders.

BASTA!
STOP!

Italy is a decent team with Materazzi too (well more than decent... and WC Winner).

He's a rough defender, and then?

  1. 1st, somebody has to do the dirty job.
  2. 2nd, Everybody knows that players say terrible things each other to raise opponent's annoyance.
And Zidane made the wrong thing leaving words for hands (as Totti spitting to Poulsen and many more examples).

Why not to stop generalizations and silly talks like these?

I can only see ONE person being arrogant here, mate.

Firstly, what did M. do to deserve being called a "butcher". NOTHING. He played clean ALL the wc. He even got sent off through a ref. wrong decision (confirmed by FIFA) and had a plausably wrong penalty decision given against him.

But maybe you interprete footage differently - maybe you think he's a butcher because you don't support his team, so no matter how he gets the ball, he's been a butcher to you. Biased, or what?

Secondly, you think the Italy squad had "little known players". YOU DON'T HAVE A CLUE ABOUT ITALIAN FOOTBALL. Do you watch Serie A football, or don't you. There were no little known players there. There were some players who had "little" international experience, but all valid KNOWN players.

Thirdly, who ruined what? Who was the coward? Let's start making a list of what is "cowardly" and what isn't, and let's see the results. You are judging the wrong man. A post elsewhere wrote:

Ronaldo was blamed for Rooney's bad behaviour, not Rooney himself (Ronaldo had his house in Chesire, England attacked!!). And, Materazzi was blamed for Zidane's outburst - berated in world media. Lessons must be learnt here.

SOmeone needs to sort out their priorities.

Fourth - you're right, Italy have many great defenders.

It's amuzing people judging Materazzi without knowing what really happened. Of course he insulted Zidane, but so what? Are you guys new to the game? In every single match, and i repeat this, in every single match players insult each other, so don't come and make Materazzi a monster just because alot of people hate Italy or dislike their football. Stop the whining! Zidane has a record of violence and anyone who follows football for some time knows this. He is no saint and he has been a dirty player before.

lets get one thing strait,i know materazzi very well, even saw him play in san siro

i know his reputation and i've seen it he is a butcher, just ask italian calcio watchers and if they are honest they will tell you what i'm telling you.

nesta, maldini, even cannavaro are angels compared to him.

isnt that so?

Zidane a dirty player ? and YOU pretend to know something about football ?

Your agenda is as simple as this :

1. you defend Materazzi the angel just because you enjoy what happened to France and zidane in particular, just because you are [beep!] off that your "glorious" team Portugal has been beaten by France.

2. you can't stand all these black and muslim people in a european team and you are probably unable to admire any of them

I submit that anybody reducing Zidane to a dirty player don't give a [beep!] of football and is only motivated by hatred

Sorry Belis but your anger doesn't allow you to see the truth. If you followed Zidane career you would know he has stomped and headbutt other players before and he has seen many red cards for agressive play. Sowwwwy Cool

Kary, funny talking about Italia and Portugal when that Guyana guy, Malouda, dives in the italian box, and cheats for a PK.

lol stop [beep!] plz

Ok zidane already got red card during his career and did one other headbutt, but sorry compary to the big majority of player, he almost never did bad acts.
Zidane career last at least 15y, and in 15y I think we can count the number of red cards he got on the finger of the hand.

Actually you are wrong, not even the fingers of both your hands would be enough, he was sent off 14 times.

I would like to see YOUR reaction with a Materazzi launched straight on you full speed with his knee first ... watch reallity !!! Materazzi played dangerous game and intimidation on this and Italy deserved a fault .. and whatever, a fault on the same player in the surface has never be signaled on the second period. Forget it ( ... and dive Wink ) !

There are a lot of videos in youtube.com about Materazzi's violence.

Yes but he was the best player in the world for at least 10 years.

What is the difference of quantity of harassments (and insults/violence in answer) ever day or hour between a gorgeous girl and an ugly girl ?

( ... ask a beautifull girl and you might understand - Materazzi kind of Laughing - )
Sorry Wink

He plays as a classic number 10, not even in a defensive position, he saw too many cards for his position, and alot of them were for his bad behaviour. Facts don't lie.

Think about it this way kary, there are men who are charming and clever and who have good relashionships with women and then you have those who are dumb and cheap and can't do much more than talk. This doesn't justify that they can harrass women. Talk about that with a charming and intelligent man one day Kary, and you will understand Wink Sowwwwwyyyyy

International football looks like real life... No justice... Rules not really applied...

Italians hated Materazzi, now they love him...

Everybody thinks Zidane is the bad man and Domenech the Hero... But Domenech is rubbish...And we have him until 2008 now...

Forgive but do not forget... If only football could be more fair with no headbutts and no insults...

Maybe Inter supporters love him, for sure everybody here got ashamed for what happened, don't mind the occasional idiot; Materazzi has always been a poor player and he will deserve some kind of punishment , I'd like him to be banned from the team , no matter if the headbutt was deserved or not, I'm not talking about it. ZZ's reaction comments on its own, sadly. Anyway here people start talking like they want FIFA to be proceeding for a disqualification on the whole team and the retirement of the award. I think the debate is going beyond the logical....anyway I'm trying to imagine what would happen in a case of disqualification on the whole team....will it be the chance to clean something up inside the FIFA system ?

Only Materazzi?????

Ha ha.
You forgot to add Totti and De Rossi to that club of "Players Of Dirt"

In my university it is called "Assworms". Smile

But there are a lot of very good and agressive players in Italy! But they are positive! For example Gattuso. He is agressive but not dirty (like Assworms club).

The best man in Italian football is C.Vieri.
In history - F.Baresi, G.Zola, G.Vialli and F.Ravanelli. Smile))

let's be fair, without materazzi italy is a clean team
