Marcello Lippi announced on Wednesday he was stepping down as Italy boss less than three days after leading the Azzurri to World Cup glory. Lippi saw his squad lift football's ultimate prize in Berlin on Sunday after defeating France in a penalty shoot-out and has decided to leave on a high

Yeah.. also cause we don't have great managers unemployed... rumors say that Donadoni, Zaccheroni or Gentile will be the next coach of Italy

It'll be hard to replace Lippi, not because he was a fantastic coach in a technical fashion, still Italy suffers from an excess of defensive game, but because he compacted the team and gave strong motivations to a team of almost-nobodies, just like Klinsmann did ( can't help, I appreciate him a lot! ).

I'm in urge of new names with strong will, I want Italy to get a way more aggressive mid-field and a higher technical benchmark, to keep the quality in the rear dept. while getting better in first intention launchs, dribblings and 1-1s.

The actual names don't convince me. Zaccheroni?? DOnadoni??? What about Prandelli or Spalletti??

lippi did a good work.

Now we are CHAMPIONS...
i'll prefere donadoni from the list u did before, but i 'd really like someone who won something...like ancelotti or better Capello ..

Now everybody here is saying that italy sucked.. but every club in europe wants ours players to be theirs.

i ' m happy for what came out but i think we should save our players to be sold in (stolen by) other countries.

It's a common thing that a coach that have won the world cup quits his team high! No doubt Lippi is one of the best coach of the world, coaching has a meaning in Italy! It's a pity for the italian team, but I think that there are many other great coach in Italy to replace him.

I'm a little worried about the english team, I'm wondering if they will choose a foreign coach again or an english coach! But in general, english coach are not so good because of that strange "kick and rush" culture that is still there... A coach is really needed in England, because most of english players are very good and deserve a very good coach!!!
