Too bad for Germany, Klinsmann is a nice person and a strong motivator who's been able to lead Germany to an excellent result although lacking a specific "superstar" among the team.
Domenech still on France's bench? Hope that the team mates will get a bullet-proof self control in front of this poor man. On Italy's "Il Giornale" newspaper Thuram revealed that the team was living in an almost self-management, i.e. Domenech didn't count a thrashed can into the EDF. I believe he's an arrogant who took an advantage from some of the reflected light from the biggest names....for short France would have been soon out if the Senators didn't took the team by hand.. |

I feared that this was goning to happen. I don't quite understand that decision. I hope if Klinsmann leaves the staff he build around him will stay. I hope they'll manage to have an independent coaching team again that's not remote controlled by the DFB.

His assistant Joachim Loew is the new german Teammanager.
It 's a pity that Klinsi leaves, though Loew is the best next choice! |

I can understand that decision - he retires in the right moment. Too bad for us. But imagine our team is doing not so great in the next games. He will be the bad boy again. And so he can end his career with honour...
Let's hope and pray that he is not going to train the U.S. That would be my worst case scenario and awful! I couldn't forgive him that. But he's the type of guys who would do that...Sh** Yeah, I think Jogi is the best choice to continue the work with the team... |

I was really hoping he stayed, he was excellant for Germany and he has already made a lasting legacy in his short time with the national team. Note he is not retiring he is just quitting the Germany job, he wants a 6 month holiday.

that is a surpirse to me because I think the USA football federation is actually "unofficially" approached Klinsmann after Bruce Arena quitted and Klinsmann declined and said something to the effect of "my heart is with Germany and my future lies in Germany." But maybe he feels disappointed how the public opinion could go from one extreme to the other in a matter of days....

It's not that I don't like Klinsmann, but I think that it is a a good decision! What Klinsmann did was really wonderful, he mad a offensive and good looking team! Germany may be the best offensive team (with Argentina) this year! But it's not that I'm conservative, but I prefer seeing Germany as a defensive team as before. It's funny to see each country's identity, if I'm watching a brazilian team, it's not to see them playing an italian football! lol Germany usually has a very boring football, but we like them because they are what they are, Klinsmann's team was not natural! lol
Sleepy Germany, please come back!!! We miss you!!! lol |

For the first time in history our defensive line sucked. So the team had to compensate. They did that quite well. I'm sure Loew will carry on a strategy thats kind of similar. I think Klinsmanns real achievement is that he modernised the hole national team plus surroundings. The league and parts of the DFB hated him for that but with his success he has proven his point. I also thought he would quit because of his life in the States. He's stayed there almost until the begining of the WC and that almost become a national afair because a coach of the German national football team must live here. |

I totally understand his decision. When Klinsi first started as the coach he was slaughtered by the German media and the people. Some of the stuff they were saying was like "Go Back Home to America and never return" They criticised his team selection Lehmann instead of Kahn, and David O'Donkor they both turned out to be two of the best players in the team. Now after the world cup success the media and people love him they are begging him to come back! What better time to say "no thanks"

There was a controversy about him. He had many supporters too, otherwise he would've been out alot sooner. I never really liked him, but I gotta say he convinced me. The America issue can't be solved though, you cannot attend to internationals and then leave the country as soon as the the final whistle is blown. I think he realized that and has taken the consequences. |
