Phil Smith is ready to sign a 12-month deal with Swindon Town after impressing Robins boss Dennis Wise on the club's pre-season tour.
The former Crawley and Margate custodian travelled with the League Two outfit on their tour of Ibiza and has done enough to earn a permanent stay.
Smith, 26 years old, will put pen-to-paper on his return to England, speaking with enthusiasm about his new employers.
''I am pleased to have been made the offer and hope to have everything signed and sealed when we return to England,'' he told the club's official website.
''It has been a tough few weeks but I have had a few opportunities to play and thankfully there has been a contract offer at the end of it, which I will be delighted to sign.''
