Is the state Welsh football so low because at grass roots level there are other sports that take priority?

Give us your opinion!

Its all down to the fact that the quality of the game play is worse than what my under 14's team play on staurdays. Its scrappy and boring, there is never excitement the only real good player thtat come out of welsh football was Eifion Williams who is now at Hartleepool. I think the only way to improve welsh football is to give England one automatic place to the Champions League and give Wales,Northern Ireland and Scotland one, that is the only way we can get our reputations back up !

Not so sure on the Champions League point as to be honest at the moment the welsh, irish and scottish league standars are very poor apart from the odd tem!

The standard of the rest is probably the conference level and below!

If Welsh football is ever to rise it will be in a decade's time if taken in firmly at grass roots level within the schools!

Actually, where im from cardiff, we play football all the time. In Cardiff football is bigger than rugby as you can see as Cardiff Blues get 2,000 a week and Bluebirds use to avergae 16,000. POINT football is as big as rugby in Wales.

To be honest welsh football is about as exiting and entertaining as watching paint dry, it will never improve as there isnt the needed facilities that allow youngsters to compete, and i dont think welsh people really care about football as much as the rest of britain.

Ok basically you need to get youre facts write mate, Barry Taown adn T.N.S have a cracking youth set up but Cardiff, Swansea and Wrexham take them all away ! I sepnt a year at Barry before I went to Cardiff and then got released. But nether the less, Barry have a great set up the coaches are great, Welsh football is he same quality as Conference football, maybe a bit worse. The only factor is Wales dont havea big reputation. And everyone Support either cardiff,Swansea,Wrexham,Newport or Merthyr. If someone actually invested in Welsh football it could improve greatly but knowone have taken the chance.
