Boston United are poised to make goalkeeper Ben Kirby their ninth signing of the summer.
The 19-year-old has impressed Pilgrims boss Steve Evans during a trial period and will now sign for the League Two side subject to a medical.
Kirby, a former Derby County trainee, was released by Sheffield Wednesday at the end of last season but has now secured himself a new club with just days to go before the start of the new season.
The shot stopper will sign a one-year deal at York Street if he passes the necessary tests, and will be given the number 13 shirt for the coming League Two season.
Kirby will look to challenge former Welsh international and fellow summer signing Andy Marriot for the number one jersey at the Lincolnshire outfit.
