Well he has gone to preston on a 3 year deal. Think he can do better that that. Will miss him if even fro one moment, the 2nd goal which brought us back v olympiakos (who ever you spell it.)

never did mate,its just that goal was so important for us, look where it led us, well gerrard got the winner but if he had missed his chance i dought we woulld have won and got a wonder goal from stevie, anyways, was a good servent to the club when called upon

Yes he is a Liverpool lad thru and thru.

Just doesn't really have that extra bit of class to cut it I guess.

This guy lives about 10 doors away from me and he is main Liverpool scout for the part of england i live in and he was scout for Man city and spotted mellor, took him to city, and then moved to Liverpool and brought mellor along

good luck mellor. Just a shame he couldnt kick on form his amazing reputation in the youth team and reserves.

Wish him the best of success. I'm sure with regular football, (and a lil wight loss Wink ) he will be moving up the leagues soon.

I thought Mellor was highly regarded by Liverpool. Was it his choice to move on or did Liverpool decide he wouldn't make the grade?

think we decided he wouldnt make the grade. we loaned him out a few times but he just didnt live up to the promice. hopefully with regular first team football he can gain confidence, match fitness and start to prove himself.

Have to admit I only saw him play in fleeting glances but he looked good. Good movement.

You're prob right tho. 1st team football, an extended run in a team & he'll likely go on & do quite well for himself.
