Real Madrid president: Capello has promised trophy

Real Madrid coach Fabio Capello has promised president Ramon Calderon at least one trophy this season.

Calderon revealed: "The group, with the five signings made, has been consolidated. Capello understood that there was the need to reinforce the defence and the centre of the field, the weak points, in his opinion, of the last seasons, and this is what we have done.

"He has promised to me that, as a minimum, this year we will win a title."

On rivals Barcelona, Calderon added: "Barcelona already had a great team and now they have made more signings. But at Madrid we like our rivals to reinforce themselves. We welcome the contest."

Voted for La Liga. Capello usually is not interested in national cups and one of his best qualities is the training so in my opinion he has more chances to win a long competition.

Yeah, i don't see Real winning anything this year. Not only that, but i think they'll finish 3rd in Spain. And the cup means nothing to me so even if they win that it wouldn't really matter, imo.

i reckon they might have a good chance winning this trophy.....
