ye shola dus play wel against unknown euorpeans. in a way sib is like shola. good in the air, and a tal attacker. maybe martins and shola/sibieski can be a good partnership

Thats the idea

I believe that Sib was bought to play with Shola. Why not, atleast it cant be as bad as Luque, would anyone swap Luque for Robert??

But we could play zog in the middle with parker, Duff on the right, and robert on the left, i rekon Benfica might swap him for Luque.

why use Luque in a swap for Robert?
Loads os La Liga sides want him we should look at Martin Petrov at Ath Madrid or Ewerthon at Real Zaragoza

I wasfurious when we first signed him Ilabelled him a donkey after seing him in the first 2 games against West Ham as a sub and against that europen side I feel like I m the donkey for wronglly critising the lad when he hadn't played a game. he has so far played well.

IMO Nzogbia's best position will be cm as I think he can have a bigger influence in there. i would much rather see him play their than the inept Emre. I would have Robert back but I think our main priority is still in defence and attack remmber Sibierski has only signed a1 year contract Rossi could leave in january and also Ameobi has had injury problems Martins picked up an injury against Villa and Owen is out till maybes next season . Our defence is poor we could do with signing Bridge and a right back and also sign a top quality cm.

What about this for a side for next season
Given
Miguel rb
Bridge lb
Kuffour
Taylor
Milner rm
Duff lm
Nzogbia
parker
Owen
Martins/Beattie
For me this would be aquality side and also we have to keep hold of Milner who IMO hs been one of our betetr players this season. Beattie IMO would be a good signing i would also take a few others the likes of a Defoe Viduka yakubu. We need sto strengthen our attack and deence for me. defence is crucial

lol ok, il bear that in mind.

i think now that we got martins, we should definalty concentrate on beefing up the defence. but as shola is struggling with his hip, we will need a back up for martins and owen when hes back

the best unlukiest team in the prem that is!

all we need is a consistent reliable goals scorer, like shearer. that will rarely get injured, but wil regularly score

In the 0-0 home uefa cup tie he was excellent he was quality for a mediocre Villa side last season he played canny at Vila Park earlier and against Liverpool he did ok at least he had a go. He is a quality player IMO and I am delighted he is staying till January at least Freddy would be tupid to sell him.

The reason why Roeder bought Sib is because he realised we dont really have a Alan Shearer type player in the team, obviously Shola Fits the bill, but can you bank on his fitness?? I would still like to see how Oba and Micky get on as a partnership.
This should be the toon team...

i think sibierski is a good player but not a great player
he is very good at heading but he lacks the pace for premiership i thought it was a smart move as we didnt have anyone to cover for shola when he got injured,

he's already played a lot in the prem with man city Confused its not as if he's moved from a lower league team.

i think that should be the team as well Blane, but the midfield is a hard choice to make. we have a lotof good players in midfield , and i think the mid should be N'zogbia, parker, emre, duff, but thats just my opinion

Blane, just wondering how your Formation would work, N'zogbia on the left, but then Emre, Parker and Dyer play in the middle, you would have to drop one for Duff or Milner.
