Hewlett is out of contract this summer and was left out of the squad to face Bristol City on Wednesday.
Manager Andy King has hinted that the 29-year-old will not be part of his plans for the next campaign.
Steve Robinson, Steve Book and Alan Reeves have already been told they will not be offered new deals, although Reeves is expected to stay as a coach.
