Richard Cresswell returned to action for the first time since May when he featured in a behind-closed-doors game against Doncaster Rovers at Thorp Arch on Wednesday afternoon.

Cressy, who has undergone two knee operations since February, played the opening 45 minutes of the 1-1 draw with Rovers and came through unscathed.

United caretaker manager John Carver said: "I was delighted with his fitness, his attitude and his willingness to run.

"He did some good things and he got 45 minutes in which was very important. I had a chat with him afterwards and he's feeling good."

The game also featured Polish international midfielder Bartosz Karwan, who is currently on trial with the club.

Rui Marques and Seb Carole were also given a run-out while Jermaine Beckford scored United's goal as honours ended even.

This could be a key thing for Leeds. This could hep us push for promotion. I think Cressy will do well once he comes back. What do you think??
