great video m8. for the others,i'd say that at first we re all pp and shouldnt let the violent at games. there are maybe bad turkish pp and fans its true and there are also violent in footbal u know, but we all must admit that that exists everywhere.for example holigans are there in uk. we cant generalise the other with them. maybe som1 remember, in the years of galatasaray i mean when they won the eufa cup roma fans and even footballers and other workers of roma fight turkish funs and turkish players in the pitch and stadium but when they come 2 istanbul for the 2.stage turkish welcomed them hospitally.and that's the best answer for violent i think |

Spurs one up at halftime, Hossam Ghaly goal.
Going well, bossing midfield and pretty much just doing what we have to away from home. Need a second goal now. |

Class effort from the lads, dominated midfield and pushed forward with numbers. Took them apart quite methodically really.
Chuck Lennon and Malbranque and Zokora into that team and great things will happen. 8am, its bedtime for me, sick of hearing chinese commentary on Sopcast. |

Tottenham have opened the group stage of the Uefa Cup with a win following an impressive 2-0 success over Besiktas in Turkey.
The North Londoners went in at the break ahead thanks to Hossam Ghaly's first goal for the club with Dimitar Berbatov's sublime second after the interval settling the contest. The contest resembled more of a boxing match early on with both sides sparring with each without threatening to deliver that knock-out punch. Spurs keeper Paul Robinson was a mere spectator in the opening 10 minutes, although Vedran Runje' was equally untroubled. Suddenly the visitors burst into life and Dimitar Berbatov slid home after Runje parried Danny Murphy's shot, but the Bulgarian was rightly deemed offside. Benoit Assou-Ekotto tried his luck from distance on 25 minutes after Besiktas could only half clear a corner, although his side was high and wide of goal. Shortly after defender Mehmet Sedef had a wayward effort from distance the visitors were ahead through Ghaly after 31 minutes. Berbatov's through-ball sent Ghaly through the middle and despite his initial shot being saved it rebound into the Egyptian and bounced into the empty net. The home side rallied and almost levelled matters after 37 minutes. Burak Yilmaz's free-kick stung Robinson's hands and the former Leeds man was on hand to clear the rebound under pressure from Ibrahim Toraman. Spurs were close to doubling their lead before the break but Murphy's left-footed shot flew just wide of the far post after good work and a neat through-ball from Berbatov. The visitors started the second half brightly and Berbatov gave a glimpse of what was to come after striking a right-footed volley that Runje saved at his near post. However, Runje and co were helpless to prevent Berbatov bagging Spurs' second just after the hour mark with a fine piece of dribbling and technique. Robbie Keane set Berbatov free and he charged towards goal and left Baki Marcimek for dead before getting the better of Runje and rolling home into the empty net. Keane was inches to netting a third for the visitors but his volley rounded off the floor onto the crossbar after great work down the right by Berbatov. Spurs should have added a third in injury time but Jermain Defoe guided his side wide at the near post, although it mattered little as Spurs eased home to secure the three points. So, any Turks care to share their views on the game? Spurs dominated, should have had a penalty, Keane should have had 3 but oh well. 3 points and a great start to the group |

Berbatov showed great composure for his goal. Keane was a bit unlucky with his effort though.

the first goal had a bit of luck in it but Spurs thoroughly deserved the win and Besiktas were very poor really , i wonder whether we will have any Turkish fans on here giving their verdict on the game . They must agree their side did not play well i would have thought .

What can i say..
Our performance was rubbish. We did nothing at all. There were 19 aged players in our midfield and two of them were playing in second division last year.Thats all we can do with these inexperienced guys It was Tottenham's chance that our important players(Kleberson,Delgado) were injured before this match. congratulations Spurs! |
