As i'm a Liverpool fan i will obviously tend to lean slightly more towards Carragher but they are both class defenders and would love to see them two as the two centre backs for England instead of Ferdinand & Terry. I just thing Carragher is alot more solid than Ferdinand and is willing to throw his body in the way of everything and anything. He is a no nonsense defender and gets the job done with no complaints and to 100% effectiveness.

As much i hate don't like Chelsea i think John Terry is absolute class as alot of people do. Good in the air, strong in the tackle and also an eye for goal unlike Carra. He is one of the main reasons Chelsea keeps so many clean sheets without him Chelsea would find games alot harder.

So who is the better centre-half? Discuss here.....

I would say that carragher is better than terry because carragher gets a better chance to show his skills but terry dosn't he has all his midfielders to dot eh work and carragher is better under pressure than terry

well wat can i say they're both good they both got good skill but i think carrager is better han terry but i think soon enough terry will prove that he going 2 b a beter defender

both are quality but i would have to say terry im afriad. Even though he has Makelele infront of him, i still believe Terry to be in top 3 defenders in the world. Carragher is quality tho, but would have to say terry wins this one

How can't you compare the two?
Their both defenders, both central defenders, both play for big teams and both play for England!

Not like i'm comparing Jens Lehmann to Ronaldinho is it which obviously you can't compare because they are in different departments of the field.
