Scott Carson has offered his thanks to Charlton Athletic boss Iain Dowie for handing him regular Premiership football.
The goalkeeper is spending the first half of the season on loan at The Valley from Liverpool, who have a recall option in the New Year.
Carson is yet to reach double figures in appearances for his parent club and is grateful for his chance with The Premiership's bottom team.

"It is all credit to the manager here that he took the opportunity to give an inexperienced goalkeeper like me a chance of gaining experience here," said Carson.
"I am enjoying it and learning all the time, but if I am told to go back to Liverpool then it is what I must do.
"At the same time, though, I want to help Charlton up the table and I'm glad if my saves can do that."

The 21-year-old produced a superb performance in Saturday's 1-0 win at home to Manchester City - only The Addicks' second of the season.
Dowie has been hugely impressed by Carson and is hoping that his Liverpool counterpart Rafa Benitez lets him stay for the entire campaign.

"We are just going to have to hope that a call from Rafa doesn't come," said Dowie.
"Scott has been absolutely superb and we are delighted Liverpool have given us the licence to take him, but it benefits both parties in that Scott is developing all the time, working and also learning from Premiership experience.
"Liverpool have Reina as their number one and we hope we don't get that call, but, obviously, we can't affect that."

Are we in danger of losing him like Chris Kirkland? He obviously has the ability and talent to be an amazing keeper and why would he want to sit on the bench and watch Jose Reina week in week out?

id rather have Carson inbetween the sticks for us than Reina.

i like the thought of having a very good young english keeper playing for us once again, pushing for the number 1 england shirt!

hopefully he can contunie his good form so when he re-joins us he can push for the starting 11

carson should stay at the pool

Liverpool should keep carson when he comes back from his loan spell at charlton as he will be fighting for his place at Liverpool and he will be more experienced and he will be good at stopping and his reflexes r good
