With forty five minutes gone Newcastle are sitting on a comfortable 1-1 performance, ahving been outplayed vastly in the opening stages a goal for Celta was inevitable, and it came on 9 minutes, Nestor Cannobio nestling a long range curler into the top corner.

A resurgent Newcastle appeared after going a goal down, hard work from James Milner on the right drifting in a cross, where Antoine Sibierski was there to head home for Newcastle.

At half time its 1-1.

i cant beleieve it... well actauly i can, we are brill in europe, especially this season. its like there is two teams--one for premiership, and one for everything else!

i really enjoy watching Newcastle in the uefa cup, i dont know why it is. maybe its because the tempo is slower in europe, so we can knock the ball about better, therefore looking a better team.

I dont think there was one bad player today, apart from luque. maybe is we keep playing him, he might start playing better? but hes not got long to prove himself if betis and barca are after him in january.

Defence-wise, super. like with the team, bramble has two sides. plays great in europe, and gets all the stick when he playes in the premiership. Given was superb as usual. and as for Taylor? quality, first goal for the club, great performance all round for him. he has good vision as a defender, good pace, shame about his hand balls Laughing.

That man Sibierski bangs in another one. 5 games, and 3 goal in europe. maybe roeder bought him to win us the uefa cup? Smile

i really woyld like to see a 100% record in the group stages. win all 4, and lets start to show teams what were all about!

Brilliant result. I had to leave for school after about 60 mins so missed the finished unfortunately. Luque was absolute rubbish from what i listened too. Great to see Sibi banging them in!

Maybe but he did supply the cross that Taylor put away for the win.

If we win, I'm not bothered who played badly.

Taylor was amazing. He was all over the pitch. Best I've seen him play. Outstanding. Gets my man of the match.
