Poland and England have already qualified for World Cup Finals 2006 no matter what will be result on Wednesday England-Poland, this game will be for the 1st place, both teams will play this match as WC finalists-why?- because Czech Rep. have lost their game againts The Netherland 0-2 -the situation- 2 best 2nd place teams will qualify automaticly for the WC- England 22 pts, Poland 24 pts, Czech Rep 24 pts-1 game left -if they win their last match -27 points , but they are in group with 7 teams- so at the end they will have 6 points less- that means 21- so everything is clear Poland and England are already through- Congratulations!!!

Good news for Sven and the boys. They were lucky to come away with the win today, but did just enough to get it.

I think Sven should go now tho, he looks like hes lost the plot!

Yea i wonder if Sven will give any of the fringe players a run out, someone will have to replace Becks anyway.

Then again, Ahmed Mido got a straight red card for Spurs against Chelsea this season for a very similar challenge as the first one.

Well, I didn't see the match and I'm surprised that Becks was sent off, but I can say spanish referees are really bad, and that's a fact (and it hurts me because I'm spanish). Anyway, it's hard to find a very good ref. I liked Colina, and now my fav one is Mitchell.
Some people like Graham Poll (don't know if it's well written), but honestly, I don't like him (at least in international matches). But I understand that referees have a difficult job to do, so it's normal that they get wrong sometimes.

I am glad that its settled but i still think we need to go out on Wednesday and win the group!

There is a lot of work to do before the hype begins again for next summer!

As of today - England will struggle to get past the 2nd round!

I agree, Sven has a lot of thinking to do and a lot of big decisions to make. I think hes too scared of upsetting the 'big' players in the squad. He needs to make them not take their England place for granted.

i think Holland beating Czech Republic meant England would qualify as one of the best two second placed teams automatically , even if they lose to Poland on wednesday. The eight group winners are joined by the two best second paced teams leaving the other six second placed teams to go into the play offs .
