Celtic still keen to leave SPL |
|
Celtic chairman Brian Quinn insists the club are still looking to a future outside the Scottish Premier League.
Speaking at the club's AGM, Quinn was quoted as saying "I don't think it's imminent but the ice is beginning to crack. Are things capable of changing? Yes. Are forces at work to bring about change? Yes. Are Celtic keeping an eye on these developments? Most certainly." Celtic have made overtures about joining the premiership before but have always been rebuked. The other option is joining some sort of European League but none is on the horizon. So what is everyones opinions on this? |

they've just gotta accept the fact that they'll never leave it they should just give it up and I'm pleased someone besides them and Rangers might win the SPL this season

I also dont think they are actually good enough to compete in the premiership, i think they would probably survive but wouldnt do much more.

Big Jono : I also dont think they are actually good enough to compete in the premiership, i think they would probably survive but wouldnt do much more.
Yea this would be true for maybe their first season, but then the TV money would come rolling in and all the sponsership deals. Celtic would not be afraid to spend either because they would be guaranteed a large payout at the end of each season which they cannot afford to do in the SPL because the money is virtually non-existent. With Celtics fan base and stature, they would attract quality players and i feel would be more than capable of competiting in the EPL, over a period of time. |
