Unbelievable! Was it a really good game or was Liverpool simply embarassingly poor? Cause if it was the former then i'm sure sorry i missed it.

Well it was a disastrous and pathetic scoreline, but all is not lost, true we are out of both domestic cup competitions within 3 days, but both games were lost to 2 superb teams,Arsenal 1st and Reserve teams, but like i said all is not lost,we are sitting in 3rd place in the Premiership and have 2 great games against Barcelona to look forward to..
I have to mention the superb Liverpool fans too, once again a full capacity at Anfield in what is supposed to be a poor competition, singing our famous anthem right until the 93rd minute even at 5-1 down, best fans in the world without any doubt whatsoever...

So cheer up Liverpool fans because it could be much much worse,we all could be Everton fans, now imagine how bad that must be..... Confused ....infact don't imagine it,i just have and it hurts badly...

Very surprised by the result and the quality of play in the team. The maturity was lacking at some moment but it does come with youth good result anyway. Well done to the whole team.

Dear dear dear me...... Poor gazz is now taking it out on Everton fans LMAO.

You go on about the fans ??? They were walking out at half time son, we were smarter and just didn't turn up at our game. Razz But to give such a statement as best fans in the world I would disagree. Everton fans would of stayed till the end, wether you say we're use to getting beat or not, we still stay.

Walking out after 45 mins is a shame, a shame on Liverpool fans.

So lets sum today up.
Shamefull Management
Shamefull team
Shamefull fans Razz

May I also take this opportunity to congratulate Arsenal and their supporters on their win today Wink

To be air it was a one off anyway and the referee could have disallowed 2 Arsenal goals.
The passing quality was typical of the football Arsene wants the players to express.
Actually I saw a training session with most of the player on display tonight and they did not show that kind of skill there.

What a disappointing night, We scord three goals at home and still lost. It shows Gabriel Paletta isnt ready for the first team, He made Aliadiere look good, I think he was at fault for three of the goals and Dudek was at fault for one goal...so that means we should have won 3-2 Wink

I just hope we dont take our cup form over to the league.

well i`m no expert but its a bit unfair to insult Alliadiere with a comment like that , the commentators and the panel all rated Alliadiere as having played brilliant or he was outstanding ...now would Arsene Wenger publicly state that he wants to keep Alliadiere if he did not rate the lad ...Alliadiere is a good player ...whether or not he leaves Arsenal is uncertain at the moment but i think he desrves some credit for his performance against Liverpool .

Do you honestly think Alliadiere would have played so well if Finnan, Agger, Riisse and Carragher were in the back four? In fairness he did play well and would have got man of the match had Baptista not been soo clinical. But he isn't good enough for Arsenal and never will be. He just isn't a big game player.

Raffa's tactics have been shocking at times this year and tonight with bringing Carragher on instead of Crouch, he made a complete mess of everything. He might aswell sell crouch if he doesn't trust him to come in there. The manager should have put out a full side and went for the game, but he must be wanting to focus on the Champions League and the league. That is the only explanation I can see because he would never have played Peltier and Guthrie and even Warnock.

Luis Garcia looked absolutely shocking tonight and that is one of numerous performances I have seen him put in which simply aren't good enough. I don't think he can have long left at Liverpool, well not if I had anything to do about it.

And finally, to highlight the point Jamie Redknapp made at half time about Dudek's footing. It was spot on, Dudek always seems to have a small jump before he dives which makes him lose that split second on the ball and giving him a major disadvantage in his attempts to stop oncoming shots. It certainly might have enabled him to get near to if not save a few of them tonight.

This isn't uncommon mate. Next time you see a tennis match, take a close look at the movements of the players. I've noticed that tennis players take a very small jump before many of their shots (depending on the situation) and apparently this gives them the best footing with which they can push off in the desired direction. I can't comment on the Dudek situation because I haven't had the chance to see it and look at his technique but I'm just raising the possibility that there may be some method in his madness. Smile

Here's a clip of Murray playing Federer. Both of the players seem jump just before they need to move towards the ball, especially from a stationary stance.

yes, they were singing throughout the game.
could hear it from the TV. (even the chant of 96 Justice)
best fans in the world, without a doubt.

Wenger: "You can only admire the Liverpool fans. They kicked every ball for the team for the whole 90 minutes and were just fabulous. The club has a great support here."

it was shocking, but hopefully the lads get themselves together soon...especially those young players. great goal by Gerrard today btw. what a beauty!

ok maybe not if the main players were there , but then you can say that Baptista would not have got four goals or Liverpool would not have lost if the main players were there . I just feel that he has hardly been given enough chances to prove himself at Arsenal and remember he has had several injuries while at Arsenal that have hindered his progress ... as Wenger said he(Alliadiere) does not play enough and is not happy about it , but he wants to keep him .

I`m still undecided about him really .... Confused

What an embarassing night for the scousers (red ones), don't worry I know what it feels like! I think Rafa completely cocked things up lastnight that was your only chance of silverwear this season and he threw it away like it didn't mean anything!

This is football, not tennis.......

Tennis players can afford to do that because they have the length of their arms, plus the length of the racket as an extension to reach the ball and so have a large advantage on goalkeepers in football, no?

When Dudek has a little jump before his dive, not only is he making a move which could work against him by taking that split second but think about this...... After he makes that jump, the next move he makes has to be decisive because he has just set himself up to dive and through this he is putting his body more off balance than it would be if he was standing alert and ready to make the save when he sees fit.

Also, like last night when the free kick came over and he had already made that preliminary jump, he did not take into account the movement the ball would have and as a result it left him standing with no chance of even moving. And then you look at what would happen if someone hits a shot and Dudek makes that preliminary jump again and the shot takes a deflection, I believe it leaves him more vulnerable to be caught out by it.

That jump is something keepers do on penalties because the ball is being hit at the goal from a shot distance and they have to make a split second decision. You shouldn't do that in other circumstances, and I think that he is making a mistake by doing so.

Does anyone have any views on that?
