Hi everyone

I'm a Level 2 qualified football coach and I'm looking for work in the London area. I've applied to the pro clubs and I'm awaiting a response. However, I would love to work in schools too as a P.E. Co-ordinator. Can anyone point me in the right direction or contact me if you have a suitable vacancy.

Cheers to all and hope you're having a great 2007 so far!

Darren Addick - like the Charlton Addicks - useless!!!

Level 2 means |Football in the Community type work, some academies may take on helpers one night a week. Opportunities for full time work with that alone are virtually impossible.
Working at a club often comes down to past playing experiences, I know a Uefa A coach who only coaches one team at the academy - u13s. Yes he does other stuff but he has to.

Becoming a PE co - ordinator would mean becoming a teacher, adequately qualified in a number of sports - particularly football, rugby, basketball and trampolining. On top of the you need a PGCE to teach, so top up your degree if this is the route you want to take.
Alternatively some schools(a minority) employ PE technicians and support staff. These tend to be short term contracts and pretty low pay - like what I'm on as I am a learning progress tutor for Maths.

Chase the dream, but bear in mind many people have the same dream and have many qualifications alongside it.

dont get me started on Darren A-Swearing removed steve020 Laughing

Ian has got it pretty much spot on!
If you are looking for full-time employment I advise you to enrol on a UEFA 'B' course ASAP (if you feel ready to take it). The coaching industry is a VERY saturated market so you will need something to give you that edge over the competition. Most clubs are in need of community coaches at certain times of year but it depends what you wish to do. Let us know what you want from a job? Are you happy just to be coaching or do you prefer coaching certiain age ranges or abilities?

Darren - you sound like a very frustrated young man.
The lad asked for some advice, some help. Neither of us claimed to be gods or senior managers, in fact I'm the furthest from it. But we tried to give him some information that we do know of.

Now you ask him, who helped the most?

i'd feel quite embarrased if i were you! Rolling Eyes

How about you don't reply to ANYTHING at all and keep these forums free of your bad language and your childish unprovoked attacks on people merely asking other coaches for advice and/or help!
