Hi, I'm from Israel and i was wondering what real Chelsea fans think of young Ben.
Here we get every move he makes on the papers, even his goals on the resurve team. Is he getting any attention there too?

He is looking good, has played for the first team this and i feel he needs to go out on Loan to gain experience but he is a really good prospect and he is thought of highly by all at Chelsea

There's still a problem with him though, in 6 month he'll be 18 and than he has to join the army for 3 years.
A few congress men are trying to create a new "super athlete" status which will allow him to do comunity service in the jewsih comunity in London instead of coming back to Israel and killing his career.

unfortenetly, yes. It's a big deal here in Israel. That move by the congresman has a lot of public support so it might work.
Everyone hopes he wont have to come back.

BTW, he made his 1st aperence in the national team against Ukraine a few weeks ago becoming the youngest player ever to play for the Israeli national team

Yeah I heard that young Ben was going to get called up for duty. He is an exceptional young talent, surely he can get out of it somehow!

Where in Israel are you from? I work for Reuters and spent 2 weeks reporting from Haifa.

Yes I am.

About Ben-Sahar, his army service was postponed in 1 year for now while a law called "the ben-sahar" law is going to be voted on in the parliment. The law says that athlets with careers out side of Israel would serve the jewsih comunity in the country they work in.
