I think two game in two days is a health hazard for the girls as you do not have time to rest properly ? Saying that I saw an Arsenal player play in a UEFA Cup game and the enxt day with the reserve team.

Well, Fortuna is the only team outside Sweden/Germany that played in the UEFA Womens Cup Final. Until the Arsenal-Umeå games starts anyway. Smile

With 1. FFC Frankfurt on course to return to the UEFA Women's Cup next season,
they have continued to ensured they have the strongest possible squad
by securing playmaker Renate Lingor on a new one-year contract.

Stoke City won the Staffordshire County Cup for the third time in five years, after they defeated Stafford Town 4-0 in the Final.

Stoke took the lead in only the second minute as Becky Knight scored from a Mel Harling cross. The West Midland League side continued to dictate matters against their Staffordshire League opponents but could not add to their advantage before half time.

On the hour mark, Knight tapped home her second following good work by Chantelle Gallagher and Kate Asher fired home the third from 25 yards. Anna Lowndes rounded off a convincing victory for Stoke when she netted the fourth, six minutes from time.

Brighton & Hove Albion retained the Sussex County Cup with a 4-2 victory over Lewes in the Final at Lancing.

Clio Tregear gave Brighton an early lead but the Seagulls were reduced to ten players soon afterwards as Katie Baker was shown a red card for retaliation. Lewes made a quick reply, Michelle Mangan netting to send the sides in level at half time.

Four minutes after the restart, Lewes - the London & South East League leaders - went ahead for the first time with a goal from Zoe Jackson but Brighton were to recover strongly, Katie Hodges equalising just after the hour mark.

Vicki Keeping then put Brighton in front once again and Tregear wrapped up the victory with her second goal, ten minutes from time.

Sheffield Wednesday have ended their two-year absence from the Premier League as they captured the Northern Combination Championship with a 3-0 victory away to Blackpool Wren Rovers on Sunday.

Needing a point in order to make sure of the title, Jane Simpson was on target twice and Rachel Skeemer added the other goal, taking her tally for the season to 25.

For the second year in succession, Leeds City Vixens will finish as runners-up after they defeated Middlesbrough 2-0 in their final match. Rachael Townsend and Katherine Bird netted the goals for the Vixens who end up three points adrift of Champions Wednesday whilst 'Boro, who led the table for much of the season, have to settle for third place.

South Durham Royals followed up their midweek County Cup success by running out 7-2 winners away to Hull City to lift themselves into fifth place. Becka Adams bagged a first half hat-trick before going on to add a fourth, Rachel Gwilliam weighed in with a double and Tracey Swailes completed the tally.

A fine run in has seen Peterlee Town claim a top half finish, thanks to a 4-1 success at Doncaster Parklands Rovers. Vicky Mudd led the scoring with a hat-trick, with Brogan Prudhoe also on target.

Is this true that they have a 47-year-old goalie Shocked
